Bruno Le Maire said France’s economy will be seriously affected by the protests against Mr Macron’s fuel reforms, which saw cars gutted after being set on fire, landmarks such as the Arc de Triomphe graffitied and three people killed.

It’s a catastrophe because tax revenue will go down. That’s how statists think.
So? PERMANENTLY eliminate the draconian gas tax. Lower all the other taxes, ride the Laffer Curve to prosperity.
Stop undercutting your own people with foreign workers (You call them workers or refugees, but we both know they are welfare recipients and invaders).
Eliminate as many innovation and enterprise stifling regulations and watch your industries boom!

First, the protests are about a lot more than the fuel tax. 2nd, the government has not "agreed to abandon" the increasing fuel taxes in any meaningful sense, they merely postponed it for 3 months.... they will pretend to have a "discussion" and then proceed with the taxes.
Maybe Bruno can car pool...
