Absence does not make the heart grow fonder when it comes to President Trump and his first secretary of state, Rex Tillerson.
Nine months after Trump summarily dismissed his top diplomat by tweet, he followed it up with another tweet in which he branded Tillerson dumb as a rock and lazy as hell.
The biting words came after Tillerson, in an appearance at a charity event in Houston, said their relationship soured over Trumps repeated demands that Tillerson do things that were illegal.
So often, the president would say, Heres what I want you to do, and heres how I want you to do it, Tillerson said at a fundraiser for the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, in his first public remarks about his truncated tenure since he was let go in March.

Trump does these tweets to send the MSM into an uproar and distract them from something he doesnt want them talking about!!! The more outlandish the tweet the more distracted they are!!!
Are you having a bad Friday? Your response is totally irrelevant to my post.
Hey President Trump, with all due respect (and thats a lot - no /sarc), quit being so mean to rocks!
You will enjoy it! :0)
that is HIGHLY misleading!!!
Trump said what he wanted to do and when told he couldn't, the was the end of it.
now if he persisted, which he dint, that would be a different story...
Tillerson is out, so what is this all about? More important things than how smart dumbass Tillerson is.
Probably Iran. The Senate GOP is busy as beavers trying to save the Iran deal at the moment by knocking Saudi down a peg or two.
“In my experience, dumb people have a knee jerk response and say, you cant do that. Smart people say, heres how you can do that and be in compliance.”
absolutely! when i worked for medium-sized scientific research GOCO, there was a contracts specialist we all loved to work with, because no matter how far out or off-the-beaten-path some of our multi-organization agreements or contracts were, this contracts specialist would work with us to find ways to make things work ... he was the very opposite of the stereotypical bad lawyer who does nothing but tell you “no” about everything you wanted to do, and then offers no alternatives ...
Our President really needs to reel in his tweeting. Things like calling the guy “he” picked for SOS as really dumb, imho, is indeed “really dumb”.
If the President is to have any chance in getting re-elected he is going to have to expand his base somewhat.
I’m thinking the constant barrage against him is beginning to take its toll. On him.
Tillerson was instrumental in turning the Boy Scouts into the Homo Scouts.
Then his replacements preceded to remove “Boy” altogether.
Excellent employee. I also had a compliance person I trained to work together to accomplish our mission.
What is supposed happen next Thursday?
The beginning of full exposure.
heres how you can do that and be in compliance.
In a complex system, many proposals are not initially within the rules in some manner.
So is that what we’re talking about, or the implied version which is requesting something known to be illegal?

I speculate trump told tillerson what he wanted. Tillerson reacted by saying it was illegal and ended there.
No use for an employee that doesnt contribute to accomplishing the co-mission of the day organization.
I call these people roadblocks.
Personally, I am amazed at how well President Trump looks.
I would have looked much worse, with all the harassment he endures.
I’m wondering if you have ever had the occasion to evaluate a resume, get some personal input, hire the person,, and be totally shocked at the result. It happens quite frequently, and I think the President likes people who are hard workers. Now, that can mean different things to different people, but he seems to like a great deal of movement. Mr. Tillerson appeared to be a little laid back to me. But that is just my opinion.
Incidentally, he did expand his base with me.
I didn’t vote for him in 16, but I cannot wait to vote for him next time.
I love what he has done so far.
Well, all due respect.....this is how our President responds
Take it or leave it!
Hes not going to play nice, and we love him for it.
“an idiot” I wonder how many people who say “I’m an idiot” are actually smarter than the people who say “I’m a idiot.”
? You flipping idiot.
Well I came out of a 10 year self imposed voting retirement to vote for him in 2016. I too like what he has done. I plan on voting again in 2020 for him and then down ballot against all Democrats.
I am only saying that, in my most humble opinion, he is beginning to show the wear and tear of being “at war” constantly.
I am fairly sure there are many people who like what he has done and what his plans are that really don’t like his bombastic attitude, as witnessed especially in his “tweets”.
Many years ago I went to school just outside of NYC and learned to appreciate the “take no prisoners” manner of many New Yorkers. I am just not sure it plays well in Topeka.
To this particular episode and again immho there was no need at all to come out today with “Tillerson - Dumb as a rock”. To the contrary it appears he is pettily vindictive.
