Brandon Masin is a 25-year-old student at the University of North Texas at Dallas College of Law. He is the founder of the law schools chapter of The Federalist Society, the only conservative student organization on campus.
On the evening of November 20th, 2018, while at an outing hosted by one of his professors for the holiday, Brandon received an email from the university stating that due to an alleged and unspecified threat he was immediately suspended and would have to meet with the school's CARE team. He emailed several times asking procedural questions about the investigation as it was unfolding out of compliance with the university's own policies and Due Process. He never received a response, only a date and time to meet with the team.
At the meeting the CARE team turned out to be the University's Counselor and Chief of Police, he was vaguely questioned about the unspecified allegations, and after sticking by his denials, he was then questioned about his mental health. If he had any anger issues if he had a firearm, how many, why he felt the need to own firearms? If he was licensed to carry them, if he carried at the school, whether he felt unsafe at the school and if he ever open carried.
After this line of questioning the CARE Team departed and the school's investigator and an assistant came in. They also vaguely questioned him about the unspecified allegation but were at least more specific by letting him know that the allegation was supposedly an off-campus threat against the university and a professor that had happened later in the day.

Bttt
NRA attorneys should be on the flight to TX as we speak.
Don’t tell me Texas is not turning blue.
They must be trying to intimidate him. This could be a cash bonanza for him.
He is a threat to the plantation.
The FOUNDER of the Federalist Society is what really scared them.
They will make him wear a yellow star on his sleeve...
Personally sue the Investigator for future lost income as a lawyer. He can get a sympathetic jury in Texas. When she is broke and destitute, he should drive by her cardboard box and wave from the “ fill in your dream car here” that her money bought him.
Should have been just a gun owner and never said anything.
Absolutely!!
If us contitutionalist don’t get in the gutter & fight to the end we will lose all of our rights. The time is now or never.
UNT is a very liberal campus. Not indicative of the rest of the state.
More liberal racism...
Not before you brought this BS up!!
many in this country are denied a Concealed Carry Permit because their local sheriff will not issue a CCW permit to anyone who can't demonstrate a need to have one. Far too many in law enforcement (they ALL have taken the oath of office) fail to accept that self protection is a valid reason to have a CCW. Get ready folks, this is exactly where the globalists in the US government are taking the Second Amendment Right to possess firearms. IMHO; At some point in the not too distant future, anyone who owns or wants to purchase a firearm will need to show a valid reason (valid reason to be interpreted by the government) to possess and or to purchase a firearm of any kind. Give them an inch and they will eventually take it all.
Maybe a $10 million lawsuit would get their attention and against the individuals involved as well.
Hell, any lawyer worth a sh*t should be knocking on his door. No retainer. Nothing. The kid is gonna get paid, rightfully. Just let the lawyer take a little piece.
I’d be looking forward to when they have to document the “unspecified allegations” or “threats”. That is going to be a doozy when they have to produce a human being that provided the information. When they can’t or won’t: Defamation, Slander, Racism, Due Process. Apparently an “off campus” threat, meaning it should be handled by the locals and not the campus cops.
Even if it was an anonymous threat, as they allege, then somewhere, there is a date and time stamp of when the reporting was done. Was it done via email or phone? If so, who took the complaint? Who answered the email/phone call?
In Texas of all places. WOW!!!! Liberals need to be driven from all things academic.
However, I was not aware that the Constitution did not cover mostly black parts of town or a citizen living there.
I do not believe that Mr. Masin lives on campus, which has complicated other such cases.
Completely and totally anonymous allegation, with no right of recourse.
In a US law school.
