It’s a beautiful track. Like night and day compared to the other New York City track, Aqueduct. I worked there as a teen in the ‘70s (Belmont). Got to see greats like Ruffian up close a few times a week as she was being brought to the track for her early morning workouts. Even got to pet her once. I was there from ‘74 to ‘76, so missed being around all 3 of the Triple Crown winners in that decade, Secretariat (73), Seattle Slew (77) and Affirmed (78).

Thanks for telling me! I’ve been to all the Southern CA tracks, but mostly Del Mar, which is near me. I always liked Hollywood Park (closed). I would often see Cary Grant at Hollypark. Santa Anita is pretty.
