David Attenboroughs climate change fearmongering makes him look a fool"
by Andrew Bolt column in the Daily Telegraph (Australia) 5 Dec 2018
Its embarrassing to see Sir David Attenborough make such a fool of himself after decades of brilliant filmmaking. Organisers of this weeks United Nations global warming conference, in Poland, asked the documentary superstar to make a speech that would wake the dead.
And he gave it his best shot, trying to sound like an Old Testament prophet but so overdoing the fearmongering that he seemed deranged.
Right now, we are facing a man-made disaster of global scale, he thundered.
Our greatest threat in thousands of years. Climate change.
If we dont take action, the collapse of our civilisations and the extinction of much of the natural world is on the horizon.
Yes, I know much of the media treated this tosh like it was the word from Heaven, which shows most journalists cannot be trusted when reporting on this new religion.
But seriously: is global warming truly a bigger threat than, say, the Black Death that wiped out maybe half Europes population?
Bigger than the Spanish flu that killed up to 5 per cent of the worlds population in 1918?
How can that be, when theres been little more warming this century? When were actually getting fewer cyclones and generally bigger grain harvests? And how can anyone truly believe our civilisations will collapse, when we can now build whole cities in Middle Eastern deserts?
But Attenborough hadnt finished burbling fantasies that were cheered by the elites inside, delegates from nearly 200 nations, but which looked nothing like the reality outside. "Take action!", he urged the leaders: The people are behind you, supporting you in making tough decisions, but they are also willing to make sacrifices in their daily lives.
They are? In France at that very moment, people were showing exactly the opposite rioting across the nation and burning barricades in Paris in protests triggered by the tough decision of President Emmanuel Macron to impose a global warming tax on diesel.
It made Australias own protests against the carbon tax seem a tea party.
These weeks of rioting have been so massive and deadly three people killed so far that the French government suspended this global warming tax just hours after Attenborough was insisting the public was screaming for more.
How strange. Attenborough got famous by carefully studying animals, but seems not to have studied humans at all.
This is really disappointing, but I guess I shouldn’t really be surprised.
quote (SAME AUTHOR AS ABOVE)
It's a feeding frenzy at the UN climate conference. There's the excuse for taxpayer-paid travel, of course, and the excuse to extort huge donations from the guilty rich:
An analysis of delegates by Carbon Brief found Guinea topped the list with 406 delegates, down 86 from last time. The Democratic Republic of Congo is second, with 237. Host nation Poland is third, with 211 delegates, followed by Ivory Coast, whose delegation this year has more than halved to 208 people...
Those huge delegations from these poor nations are actually down on last time? Wow...(snipo)
According to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, 22,771 people have gone to Katowice. This includes 13,898 people representing specific parties, 7331 from observer organisations such as scientists, business groups and various NGOs and 1541 journalists. In terms of delegates, at 13898, it is the biggest number since Paris in 2015.
All that carbon pollution to fly in nearly 14,000 people! It's a menace to the planet. And what's this about 7331 "observers"? Is this like a sports event for salvation seekers? Do they cheer? Pass the popcorn? But I can see why journalists love this global warming scare. There aren't many excuses to get 1541 jetting off to an exotic location on business expenses. The Australian delegation is 30, and that's already more than required to say "no". President Donald Trump has cut America's delegation to just 44, less that half the number that Barack Obama sent to the flop in Copenhagen. endquote
COP24 is sponsored by coal companies and now this!
6 Dec: Heartland Institute: PRESS RELEASE: Solidarity, Heartland Institute Sign Historic Climate Communique at COP24
By James Taylor, Jim Lakely
Polish labor union that stood up to the Soviet Bloc and changed the world joins Heartland on front lines of resistance to climate alarmism
KATOWICE, POLAND (December 6, 2018) The Heartland Institute and representatives of Solidarity, the historic labor union founded by Nobel Peace Prize winner Lech Walesa that helped bring down the Iron Curtain, signed a joint statement on Wednesday calling on the United Nations at COP24 to ensure the restoration of the Scientific Method and the dismissal of ideological dogma at the United Nations.
The joint statement, created at Solidaritys prompting and written cooperatively between the two organizations on December 5, was submitted to the UN Conference of the Parties climate conference in Katowice today
The statement also made clear that none of the signatories oppose the goal of clean air nor supports the elimination of coal from the worlds energy portfolio....

It seems that the personableness of most celebrities is in inverse proportion to their intelligence. It’s sad to watch someone who believes their own bulls*it. At least with Al Bore, we know he did it for the money.
These conferences are merely an excuse to eat, drink and whore on the taxpayer.

can you imagine all the gloBULL warming heads exploding? some of the tweets from COP24 in Katowice:

The Polish pavilion is indeed a eulogy to coal or, as it calls it, “black gold”. There is coal soap, coal earrings, coal cufflinks and necklets. Coal is described as “incredibly soft and fragile” and a “challenging material” praised as “a hidden charm”. Not a joke

When we say the influence of coal and corporate sponsorship at #COP24 is all around us. We also mean literally! The Katowice Pavillion features genuine coal. What a symbol to send to the world

The only thing real about “global warming” is the “global” part: it is a “GLOBAList” scam.
The easiest way expose the fakery of the global warming elites is their hypocritical behavior when they go to these conferences.
These people are flying on private jets that use more fuel in a couple of hours than ordinary people buy in a year for their car.
And then they start lecturing the rest of us to cut back, make do with less and “conserve”.
F@#k them and their woke BS !
I have heard of him but don't think I have seen any of his BBC stuff.
Look at all of those plastic chairs, made from those evil petroleum distillates.
NONE of these Climate Lunatics have GOD in their lives!! If they did, they would KNOW that GOD and ONLY GOD is in charge of the CLIMATE!!
Yep, I bet they’ll find one of those chairs in a whale’s stomach any day now.
;)
David Attenborough has done a lot of very useful work. I’m inclined to give him a pass for having gone dotty about “climate” in his extreme old age. The headline says “deranged,” but I’m thinking more “dementia.”
I hope for Attenboroughs sake, and for those at the conference, that he s a naturalist and not a naturist.
You have a point.
LOL!
And it is not about climate. It IS about ending Capitalism and redistributing wealth.
