since siding with those who support gun control, business has gone down at Dicks Sporting Goods and the company may have to close Field & Stream:
Edward Stack, chairman and CEO of Dicks, said during the event that the sporting goods chains recent 3.9 percent drop in same-store sales was the result of a mix of factors beyond their control as well as some he called self-imposed. Specifically, he said, the decisions we made on firearms negatively affected their bottom line but the drop in sales was something they expected. They did not, however, regret their decision to change a number of their gun-sales policies and back new gun-control legislation.

Money grabbers do NOTHING to deliberately hurt the bottom line. Something dirty is going on behind the scenes to offset an otherwise irrational business position.
Heart-breaking! They haven’t gone bankrupt yet...
It’ll be a happy day when there are no more Dick’s.
“Dicks had to admit to investors that its decision to remove certain assault-style weapons from its Field & Stream stores cost it dearly and may limit its future gains.”
They can kiss my my butt, as can Nike and the NFL for their support of Kapernick disrespecting America - but they aren’t going to see a dime from me.
Wonder how their stockholders feel about this turds decision?
“They did not, however, regret their decision to change a number of their gun-sales policies and back new gun-control legislation.”
They’ll regret it more and more, right up to liquidation
Dicks will go away much like Hermans Sporting Goods did...mismanagement.
“Money grabbers do NOTHING to deliberately hurt the bottom line.”
It’s called 20 something SJWs in the marketing department. It’s caused a rash of corporate suicides.
They need to jettison their old hippies and young snowflakes or they’re Dickless and bankrupt.
I happened to park in front of the local Dick's a week ago, and walked a bit to find a competing store.
We gun owners and 2A supporters have so very many options when it comes to sporting goods.
To me, the Anti-2A Dick's might just as well have a force field around its store.
Repeating.
We gun owners and 2A supporters have so very many options when it comes to sporting goods.
Dick's is (figuratively) "radio active", and that's that.
.
I distinctly remember reading not too long ago on this website posted from some liberal outlet that Dick’s sales had soared after their move on guns.
At the time some of the commenters in the thread asserted that the article was propaganda, and that seems to be the case at this point.
The Dick by my house which just recently opened is perpetually empty and has been since it opened earlier this year.
Can you elaborate? Your post makes no sense.
Dick’s and Gander Mountain were both doing well in my town until Academy came to town. Better prices, better selection and they haven’t pissed off their customers
I think they’ve always had issues. Now even more so.
Over a decade ago, I went to one for golf gloves.
I needed another pair so I returned to the same store. It had been basically stripped of inventory.
Then I realized they had just opened a new store (not all that far away, mind you) and wanted to make it looked “stocked”.
That store was never that busy to be that stripped of so much merchandise. They obviously had inventory problems.
Now I never set foot inside a Dick’s Sporting Goods. Won’t miss them any more than I won’t miss Target.
Yes but some clique of insiders will make a pile of dough just as they are doing with K Mart Sears.
“They did not, however, regret their decision to change a number of their gun-sales policies and back new gun-control legislation.”
I wonder how their stockholders feel about it.
Dumb asses.
They sucked anyway.
