The Senate Judiciary Committee is postponing votes on nearly two dozen judiciary nominees for the second time in as many weeks.
The decision to punt the business meeting again comes as Republicans are locked in a stalemate with Sen. Jeff Flake (R-Ariz.) over legislation protecting special counsel Robert Mueller.
Flake is voting against all judicial nominees until he gets a vote on the bill, which would let Mueller, or any special counsel, challenge the firing and be reinstated if a court determined it wasnt for good cause.
With Republicans holding an 11-10 majority on the Judiciary Committee, Flakes "no" vote effectively blocks the party from sending judicial nominees to the full Senate unless they can win over help from Democrats.

C. Mitch doesn’t care.
He’s not going to fight this. He knows he has 2 more years to get Judicial nominees through.
He is still riding high on Gorsuch and Kavanaugh.
Proof positive that Trumps worst enemies are republicans.

And certain mormons.
One thing the turtle has done well on is getting judges appointed. 84 or 85 since DJT took office.
“”Turtle can bring them straight to the floor, if is so inclined””
That’s what we were told over and over during the Kavanaugh stalemate - that the committee did not NEED to vote to send his name to the Senate...
Trump could just order Whitaker to fire Mueller, classify everything, and be done with it. I am so sick of this wretched congress. I think I hate the Republicans even more than the Democrats. After all, the Democrats are supposed to be despicable, you can’t expect anything from them but we do expect something better than we have gotten from our own party.
That’s true, but with a 51-49 majority, and Flake voting no on the floor, the result would be a 50-50 tie on the floor. Yes, Pence could break every tie, but what if another Repub like Flake decided to vote no, then the nominee loses on the floor. So, best to wait until those Repubs like Flake don’t have that kind of power in the new Senate.
Flake”s name is s*** in Republican politics.
I have never seen anyone so fulfill his name as Flake!!!!
My guess is he will wait for the next Congress to be seated, only a month away, and he will name committee members a little more judiciously than when he decided to let Flake foul the nest.
See the post above:

Because Faux Flake is a useful idiot. He like Ryan is a good democrat.... petulant and bitter
“This guy needs to be followed around and ruined.”
In a just world, he would be beaten into a coma with a 50 pound copy of some bill like Obamacare or part of the tax code.
Note "the dog that isn't barking":
The DemoKKKratzis on the committee are shoulder-to-shoulder in a solid phalanx.
Jeff Flake Democrat in waiting.
