Katrina showed me that there will be plenty of LEO and military who will follow their orders and take those guns away from people protecting their houses and little old ladies. No questions asked.
There was nobody home manning those weapons, with the knowledge that they were coming for their guns.
Not so many willing to do confiscations if their own families back home can’t be protected from reprisals. New Orleans was a disorganized mess and the confiscators were assured that they and theirs would be safe from any consequences.
How many civilians own guns? About 150 million.
How many federal troops and LEOs are under arms? About 1.5 million.
