It is surprising (on the surface) that they haven't become card-carrying Deplorables. But then we must realize that they are hard-core pro-abortionists, and Dershowitz would eliminate the 2nd Amendment if he could (Paglia is silent on gu. Rights, to the best of my knowledge).
So, I remain fans of them when they speak for our team, but incredibly wary of inviting them to my home for a barbecue. To wit: who would you rather invite?
1. Jeb Bush and Paul Ryan
2. Camille Paglia and Alan Dershowitz
3. Glen Beck and Mark Levin
2.
Not even close.
To argue with someone you have to fundamentally agree on certain first principles. Rush has talked about the fact that the poles right now agree on literally nothing. Nothing at all. Even a statement like “I want the best for my children” which would have been considered a platitude by both sides in the 80s and 90s is now considered selfish and privilege-ridden.
Paglia and Dershowitz are both left-wing in their idiosyncratic ways. Both are rare figures of honesty, though, compared to just about everyone around them.
2. Camille Paglia and Alan Dershowitz
2 without a doubt in my mind.
