I wouldn’t care if they had to drill through a caribou’s head to get oil.

I saw an incredible program about penguins. After an egg is laid the male takes charge and balances it on his feet to keep it from freezing.

So there were dozens (hundreds)gathered in a mass like a spiral and they don’t let the egg touch the ice for weeks until they hatch. And we are talking about temperatures well below zero. There were so many that you could see the warmth coming from the mass.

I think Chilly Willy might have made it to the N. Pole for a visit. (Shows you the things which I think about.)

To that end, the Trump administration is on pace to finish an environmental impact assessment in half the usual time.

There's been so many flippin environmental impact statements done already, it should take half the time.

B.S. I work at times in Alaska. ANWAR is a mosquito filled wasteland at best. There are lots of environmental safeguards that can be built into any drilling or oil exploration permits. Alaska and Alaskan’s need the oil revenues as the North Slope pipeline volume has greatly declined. The US needs to oil revenues and many Asian countries need the oil.

Drilling in ANWAR makes sense to me.

“Yeah, that particular area is a real paradise.”

Nothing but bird Shiite for as far as the eye can see! ;)

An area as big as South Carolina with, according to the description, moss shrubs and grass with some caribou which are food for polar bears and mosquitoes, sounds pretty boring to me. The actual state of South Carolina is quite a bit more diverse and probably has at least one oil well.

All of the reasons for limiting oil drilling there are in the imaginations of the environmentalists.

“...in which these urban poofters wouldn’t last 10 minutes...”

LOL! My very first thought, too! It would be fun to air drop a few NYTs ‘journalists’ into the heart of Alaska. Of course, we’d give them MRE’s, tents for shelter and big old shotguns & shells for protection - all of which would also confuse the heck out of them!

BECAUSE IT LOOKS SO PRETTY

Aside from a Native village at its northern tip, civilization has not dented its 19 million acres, an area the size of South Carolina. There are no roads and no visitors beyond the occasional hunter and backpacker.

Everybody knows the old saying: “If a tree falls in the forest does it make a sound?”

Well if no one sees a landscape is it beautiful?

Oh, now they care about Alaska. The rest of the time to them, it is a vast expanse of nothing but mouth-breathing retards like Sarah Palin and alcoholic Eskimos. But let a Republican get elected President and roll back the Democrat Messiah’s oil drilling bans, and POOF! they suddenly care about it.

Spare me.

What you said.

And as a bonus, why don’t these environmental wackos care about the environment over in other parts of the world? The oil production there is without any oversite or environmental laws.

That sort of thinking is pretty much why sub saharan Africa has to choose between a lighting single light bulb or refrigeration.

This article is typical enviromental, anti-oil, propaganda.

I’m not much on Snopes but they nailed on this. Follow the link for the real ANWR:

Oh, horrors! A “threat” to a “pristine” region where NOBODY LIVES. Far better we freeze in the dark than disturb a frozen wasteland nobody but a few tree huggers even care about.

“We shouldn’t drill where people live, and we shouldn’t drill where they don’t. Windmills will supply all the power we need. /s “

And we shouldn’t drill if it’s too warm, too cold, or just right.

I remember when North Slope oil was found. Such an outcry was mounted the trans-Alaska pipeline was cancelled. Some said the pipeline would NEVER be built.

I said all it would take is another Arab oil embargo and it would be punched through. The Arabs did, the Alaska pipeline went in.

So will this drilling.
