Sorry about the late post but I only spotted the article today.
The Catholic Diocese of Syracuse needs to understand they are NOT above the law... Cooperation is NOT optional OR ‘their call’. These spiritual posers need to get real...
The Catholic Church has been ravaged by the rampant homosexuality among its clergy. Eventually the deviants will be purged. Then and only then a faithful remnant will begin the reinvigoration of a smaller and humbled Church.
Exactly. This is like the kid caught breaking unto cars saying he intends to cooperate fully. Laughable if it hadn’t caused so much pain and destruction.
<...will “cooperate fully”...”
Yes, you will, whether you want to or not.
“Officials from the Catholic Diocese of Syracuse will “cooperate fully” with a subpoena by the New York state Attorney General’s Office which is investigating whether dioceses across the state covered up sexual abuse.”
Sure they will.
Don’t put your faith in NY’s AG.
BTW....
Ding, ding, ding - we have a thread winnah!
Why is it news that the diocese will cooperate with a police investigation about priests buggering boys? Cooperation should be a given and a bare minimum.
That this is even “news” speaks volumes.
The NY AG will whitewash the efforts demeaning the church.
The queer priests will be swept under the rug and assignet to Puerto Rico while the heat is on
Its apretty pathetic state of affairs within Catholicism when they let the world lead in moral issues.
So much for being the salt of the world.
Neither is the Attorney General. The “great” investigation in Pennsylvania, uncovered miscreant priests. ALL of these priests were either dead or had been removed from ministry. The Catholic Bishops in America adopted a program in 2002 or 2003 which requires Church officials to call law enforcement for any credible claim. That system has worked well. It scares me to think that an attorney general can just pick out a group and investigate it.
We know that sexual abuse in public schools is rampant but nobody wants to investigate them. Why not?
