The way the Bush family treated Trump during the 2016 campaign spoke volumes about what the GOP is all about -- and (more importantly) what it is not all about. Trump's stature as a candidate improved dramatically in my eyes when I saw that whole charade unfold. I supported him because he was NOT a real Republican. And guess what ... I suspect a lot of Democrats saw the Bush treatment of Trump as compelling evidence that a Hillary Clinton administration would be almost 100% identical to what Bush 43 brought to the White House: a total sellout to Wall Street and foreign interests. I wonder if Trump would have even gotten a lot of those Democrat votes if anyone with the last name "Bush" had endorsed him.
Trump was elected by 107 000 Democrats in Wisconsin, Michigan, Pennsylvania and probably Ohio.
