The growing drugs crisis sweeping across the US is deadlier than gun violence, car crashes or Aids, none of which have killed as many Americans in a single year as overdoses did in 2017.
Newly confirmed figures released by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) show the increasing scale of the crisis.
The drugs epidemic is not confined to a small number of states nor to lower-income areas, but instead has spread across the whole country. While there are concentrations around the midwest, and regional differences in the type of substance, overdose deaths are happening everywhere.

No. Read a story last week about a college kid who took one pill. One b and died. Was enough fake heroin in one pill to kill three adult males.
Bad choice? Yes.
One worthy of immediate death? No.

That’s certainly not the case in the Midwest where I live. The vast majority of overdoses are from Mexican sourced heroin often laced with Chinese fentanyl.
The only reason is that the deceased chose poorly.
The Brit I worked with for years was all hopped up on anti-gun sentiment until his house was invaded with him and his wife present in the house. Once he saw that the police were completely disinterested in the matter, he became an avid supporter of the Second Amendment. He now sleeps with his Springfield .40cal on top of the night stand and adores his trips to the range.
They have made to so hard for people who need strong pain meds to get them legally they go on the streets and buy them illegally.
When you give them clean needles, safe shoot up sites with a Narcan Monitor they will use more frequently. Crime will go up as they won’t work to support their habit. They die earlier. Develop diseases more from unprotected sex.
While INTRACTABLE PAIN PATIENTS NO LONGER HAVE LEGAL MONITORED PRESCRIPTION PAIN MEDS.

Depending on the concentration, just touching fentanyl can send you to the emergency room. The street stuff is made In China and shipped by terrorists in some cases.

Very sad. I am 75 and suffer choronic pain. Pain patches often cure the pain in one area, but pain pops out somewhere else on my body. I have had spinal fusions, hip and knee replacements, cancer with lymphedema, it never ends, I have gotten off these medications several times, but hace always had a new problem. At my age, just let me alone. I never take more than I am supposed to.

The issue has always been Street Illicit drugs and how to get the Feds US to pay the States for the Narcan, Rehab. As long as you ENABLE Street Junkies to use with needle exchanges, safe shoot up rooms, with a Narcan Monitor it’s a losing battle. All the Numbers sited are FAKE.
