Former Shell Oil President John Hofmeister is pouring cold water on former President Barack Obama’s claims that he’s responsible for the country’s boom in oil and gas production.
Mr. Obama on Tuesday told the audience at a gala for Rice University’s Baker Institute that he deserved credit for the oil-and-gas boom that his successor, President Trump, is now enjoying.
“You wouldn’t always know it, but it went up every year I was president,” the former president said to applause. “That whole — suddenly America’s like the biggest oil producer and the biggest gas — that was me, people.”

As always everything Obama says is wrong. Someone who actually knows something about energy set the record straight.

Lying and reinventing history are what Obama does.
My Filipino bud asked a liberal point blank about this statement days ago: “how can a socialist marxist president come up with a capitalist idea on oil production?”

My Dad used to work for Shell Oil in the 70’s until the early 80’s and almost everyone there was a conservative. If they knew you were some nature-hippie freak, you pretty much wrote your pink slip..
Obama never wanted any good for America. He did his best to bleed America to death by a thousand big and little cuts.
Next he’ll try to wrestle credit away from Al Gore for inventing the internet.

Obama is simply attempting to rewrite history. Oil production increased in spite of Obama, not because of him. It is widely searchable (until Google wipes it out, that is) that Obama use the EPA first to destroy the coal industry and then the oil and gas industry with debilitating and capricious environmental orders.
