I just got up at 9 and it had just turned light. By 4 it should be getting dark. Felt the quake as my husband some me up and we are over 400 miles from Anchorage.

Day and Night and the three phases of twilight which, from lightest to darkest, are called civil, nautical and astronomical twilight. Here's a map showing the areas of light and dark around the world right now:

Visibility is still quite good during civil twilight, the period just before sunrise and just after sunset. You can see Alaska in the top left corner.
