According to the Tijuana Health Department, more than one-third of those who rode the caravan from Central America are being treated for an illness. Out of the 6,000 illegal aliens who are currently in Tijuana, 2,267 of them are are ill. Diseases include respiratory infections, tuberculosis, chickenpox and other more serious conditions, Fox News reported.
The Tijuana Health Department spokesperson who spoke with Fox News confirmed that there are:
Three confirmed cases of tuberculosis.
Four cases of HIV/AIDS.
Four separate cases of chickenpox.
At least 101 have lice.
Multiple skin infections.
The department is also warning about a potential Hepatitis outbreak because the caravan riders are living in unsanitary conditions. Part of that is because thousands of the illegal aliens are being housed at the Benito Juarez Sports Complex near the San Ysidro United States-Mexico Port of Entry. The shelter is only designed to hold 1,000 people and has 35 port-a-potties for them.
"People aren't able to take showers, they sleep on the floor, nobody is cleaning the bathrooms, so the conditions are there for a major infection,' Carlos Betanzos, a coordinator for Ministerios Nazarenos de Compasión, an Evangelical aid group, told The Daily Mail. "We've had lung disease, flu, diarrhea, hypertension. One guy yesterday had chicken pox - but thankfully just one."
Betanzos said their main concern right now is the flu, which is likely to spread amongst the group because colder temperatures and rain are beginning to set in.
"The main danger is flu because it's getting colder and it's going to rain. If there is chicken pox it will be impossible to stop, it could infect thousands. f nothing changes it's a case of when, not if, there is a major outbreak of disease," Betanzos explained. "I would love to say there will not be deaths here, but it can happen because there are not enough doctors and medicine. The government was not ready for this many people."
The living conditions are unbearable, which is causing some of the caravan riders to self-deport. Around 80 self-deported on Tuesday alone. Mexican officials did deport 98 people who were involved in the border clash with Border Patrol on Sunday.
Clara Daniela, 17, and her boyfriend, Jose Hernandez, 25, fled El Salvador when Daniela's cousin was killed for not joining a gang. They brought along their one-year-old Fernando.

Caravan in TJ Reference bump. Thanks.
If there is a vaccine for Chickenpox, and I think there is, then it should be given to those people so they don’t develop an epidemic that hits Tijuana and then spreads over the border to our side. Same thing for some other diseases.
Do you believe that if it WAS Ebola, they'd admit it? You're a mere prole. You have no "right" to that kind of data.
Lets see, someond, probably George Soros and the DNC, is paying for their meals, clothing, and other expenses, and now they get free medical treatment while all they do is lounge around in their rent free shelters, except for occasional trips to the border to throw rocks at the officials of the country they are asking to take them in while claiming to be peacfull law abiding people fleeing in terror from the coutry whose flag they are proudly waving. What a deal. They already have it easier than many American citizens. Of course the commie media pritrays them as angels. I am getting so sick of this. Something has got to give folks, and soon. I think I am representative of millions who are sick of what the libs have done and are doing to our country. Please dear God send us hope, in the form of a leader who will show us the path to victory over these evil demonic forces that have infested the democrat party and to some extent the repubican party. We are ready to fight!
Fox showed tonight a man opening up one of the port-o-potty doors and it showed the inside. There was toilet paper all over the commode seat and rags and filth piled high on the floor. The man saw what was inside and closed the door. Hopefully there was a clean port-o-potty for him to do his business.
I bet the organizers’ only motive was to scam money from donors like Soros for their own benefit. The people in the caravan were only for their optics. Once they got their money, the people be damned.
If they do contract a serious deadly disease that would result in a pandemic we should set up intake sites in southern California, Chicago, Michigan, New York, and other dem strongholds and make sure they get out and meet the community when the get there. That shoud help thin out the over population of democrats in those areas.
Post #56 shows the filth in the port-o-potties.
I’ve been watching these developments since it began... these people are still unwilling to understand their situation, and it’s one they continue to create for themselves because they refuse to accept any options but the ones they demand.
Frankly I have no concerns about what happens to them....I’m done with people making demands pretty much in anything. Though I have great empathy for the little kids who had no say in what the adults have brought them into. Like other criminals who break the laws never consider what their actions will do to their children.
You make excellent points. What is so pathetic is all these people in the caravan have been scammed. The minute they realized that the Trump Administration had made their plans to storm the border impossible, they should have turned back. With Tijuana two days from complete end of resources, this fiasco will go out of control. The Mexican government will have to come in, round them all up and truck them down to their southern border. The estimated cost of $210,000/week to support these caravaners and the associated disease is too much for what Mexico is willing to spend.
By other accomodations I’m guessing you mean the supervised tents by the charities? Similar to the homeless under the overpasses in the USA perhaps. Have to live by rules, people in authority know who you are (and can arrest you or ship you out?), etc.
That is one of the reasons the liberals give for making the illegals in the USA legal. “Now they live in fear of I.C.E. and will not go to the authorities if they are treated poorly at work or by their husbands. They won’t get medical treatment, etc.” (Funny, they aren’t shy when it comes to getting their welfare check!)
I don’t think they were scammed at all. Though of course they are acclimated to blame others in their culture norms....which is why they find themselves continuously wanting what others have they don’t. Their degree of irresponsibility is off the scales reflected in what they have no concerns about in bringing their children into these situations, further in their constant ‘demands’.
Their lack of understanding that an asylum seeker is not an economic migrant has brought them to where they are. ..... Their refusal to accept other options in mexico has brought them to where they are....their ingratitude that any country which ‘offers’ Asylum is just that ‘A gracious ‘offer’ has brought them to where they are... They basically ‘craped’ on all of mexico and their citizens for what they have offered and tried to do with and for them.
They NEED to go home.....they really do.
I don't give a rats behind what liberals want or not.....I'm done with their whining and protests and the nonsense they spew. They're all whacked and they show it 24/7 now.
Soon we will have a cholera, typhoid out break.
yeah and the sewage flows west to the usa and then into the pacific ocean sanm diego news tonight showed the flowing waters.. southern beaches are closed ...it flows down the flood control levees where they were running around tj brown trout..
