Comey challenges House GOP subpoena in federal court

Former FBI Director James Comey is challenging a subpoena from House Republicans for his closed-door testimony in federal court.

Court records show that Comey filed a motion in federal court in Washington, D.C., on Thursday to quash a subpoena from the House Oversight and Judiciary Committees for his testimony on Dec. 3.

Comey has previously said that he would welcome testifying in public but would fight the subpoena for a closed-door appearance

Comey the ####head wants only a public appearance because (1) questions would be greatly restricted, (2) serious follow-ups would be nearly impossible, and (3) each questioner is limited to 5 min. etc. etc.

First that blasi Ford woman in the Cavanaugh hearing, now comey, seems like anyone who gets a subpoena from Congress now sets the terms by which they will honor it. It’s time for some US Marshals to go grab these turds just like they would one of us who ignored a subpoena.

He’d lose in the courts and he knows it. But it doesn’t matter - the real purpose of the filing is to tie it up in the courts until Congress goes into recess, then the new Congress gets seated, then the subpoena gets killed.

In other words, he’s trying to run out the clock.

I guess the Senate will just have to subpoena him instead.

Uh, Congress and the Court system are two independent branches of government. I don’t think a federal court can “quash” a Congressional subpoena.

Ya, sure they will. It's been two years of this constant harassment by obumber leftovers, and the senate and the house have done little more then put on a show. They are waiting for Trump to be baited into doing something they can impeach and remove him for. Failing that, mueller will be able to find or manufacture something to do enough damage to Trump that he cannot win again. No private citizen will ever run for high office again without the deep state's endorsement.
