First Lady Melania Trump spent the day down in Lynchburg, Virginia and gave a speech about the opioid crisis at Liberty University. She was met by a roaring crowd of supportive students and given a standing ovation.

During her speech, Mrs. Trump called the opioid epidemic the worst drug crisis in American history.

Last year Eric Boling’s son, a sophomore at Colorado University, died of an opioid overdose. His parents never suspected that he was involved with drugs. Eric Boling has as his mission telling parents and their children about this terrible scourge.

Having lost my husband and step-son to them choosing opioids over me, and a nephew dead of a heroin overdose, I am SO GLAD she’s making opioids part of her platform as First Lady. I’m certainly NOT the only Mom or Grandma, Aunt or Sister dealing with this in her life!
