My family and I have stopped the practice of buying and exchanging gifts on Christmas, except for a few small token ones, and mostly hand made or personal in nature. We find the crass materialism of this season revolting.
They say “Turkey Day” instead of Thanksgiving cuz it’s cute, right?
Nah, they don’t want even the vaguely religious implications of THANKSgiving.
They never quit that garbage.
DON’T say “TURKEY DAY” ever..!
God is the original gift giver.
Giving gifts is not hedonism.
I’m at the point of my life where I want to get rid of stuff, not add new stuff.
Not the point. Think deeper.
Isnt Black Friday racist?
I remember when “Black Friday” was just the name of a great Steely Dan song....

I’m originally from Canada and we have something almost as stupid as Black Friday.
It’s called Boxing Day which is a federal holiday, and has been around for close to 100 years and is every December 26.
The difference is that SECURITY TELLS PEOPLE WHO LINE UP IF YOU ACT LIKE AN ANIMAL YOU WILL BE TREATED LIKE ONE. That’s why everyone is civilized unlike the idiots who rush the door on those videos. The door rushing thing is just for propaganda..
Black Friday is racist?
Black Friday is racist?
Miracle on 34th street?

It’s not cute. People say holiday too. I tell them Happy Thanksgiving!

There are people I know who call Black Friday . . . African-American Friday for fear they will be labeled Racist!
I wish them a "Blessed Thanksgiving!"
Only racists shop on Black Friday . . . oh, and black peeps.
Or, you know, we're just buying stuff. Pretty sure the Apostles spent money for things in their day, too. Calm down, church lady.
Umm no. Black Friday has been a thing for a long time. And masses up people will always draw a few jerks. The only thing that’s changed is that in the modern world there’s no such thing as local news, everything is national. In the 80s a fist fight at a mall in Wisconsin makes no news in LA. Now the pictures are viral and around the world before people have stopped the bleeding. The core situation hasn’t changed. If anything it’s actually less crazy (look up Tickle Me Elmo), but now it’s broadcast.
