Are you honestly suggesting that NASCAR ratings are down because there are a few black guys changing tires? I don’t throw this term around, but if thats the reason you aren’t watching NASCAR, then you ARE a racist.

NASCAR is dying, quite simply, because the drivers are no longer compelling. They’re boring, homogenized, all talk the same, and frankly I can’t tell one from the other. NASCAR was exciting when you had real characters who would get in fist fights after races. Now its all about keep the sponsors happy, and they’re slowly killing the sport.

The media’s idea of improving NASCAR ratings will be to add some bull-dykes, twinks and trannies as drivers.

You certainly jumped to the ugliest possible conclusion with apparent glee there, bigdaddy45. Now why would you want to do that to a fellow FReeper? It's well-known in NASCAR circles that Brian France and NASCAR seriously jumped the shark on the PC, to the point of actually telling their legendarily loyal fanbase that they didn't want or need a bunch of redneck fans. That's a great way to kill the franchise and that's precisely what they did. Lavish minority outreach was just a symptom, it wasn't the disease. But, constantly singing the praises of Danica Patrick was certainly the source of much mockery and merriment. She just wasn't that great of a driver despite vagina.

Oh, for the days of Earnhardt, Sr.

And it’s over -exposed. Driving around in a circle for 3 hours is not interesting enough to support 30 iterations. All while using the same car and the same motor...if I had to come up with a definition of boring from scratch...that would get me 90% there.

Plus, all of the rules that were imposed to essentially make every car alike. ...No longer allowed are the innovative engine builders who could make engines that would give their cars an edge on the others.

Barring mechanical problems, they all run about the same speed and it’s boring to just watch cars go around the track, lap after lap.
