It’s not just football. NASCAR is like a ghost town at some tracks. Others do better.
Richmond used to sell out 112,000 seats twice a year up until 2009. Now, the track only seats 60,000 and maybe draws 40,000.
TV ratings are way down since 2009. NASCAR used to draw a 4.5 to 5.5 rating but is down to about 1.5 to 2.5 this season.
What has happened to NASCAR? Is it the PC/diversity craze? I see they are recruiting college athletes so they can have affirmative action pit crews now.
The young men are hooked on video games. With virtual reality it will get worse. Imagine with VR you can get into a life or death fight every day and wake up to do it again over and over.
I quite watching and going to the 5 races we did every year after Earnhardt passed away.
That and getting mugged more and more each year for tickets, hotels, gas and food etc.etc.
Just wasnt worth it anymore.
