A little girl from Honduras stares into the camera, her young features contorted in anguish. She’s barefoot, dusty and clad only in a diaper and T-shirt. And she’s just had to run from clouds of choking tear gas fired across the border by U.S. agents. A second photograph, which also circulated widely and rapidly on social media, shows an equally anguished woman frantically trying to drag the same child and a second toddler away from the gas as it spread.
The three were part of a much larger group, perhaps 70 or 80 people,..... pictured in a wider angle image fleeing the tear gas. Reuters photographer Kim Kyung-Hoon shot the photos, which provoked outrage and seemed at odds with President Trump’s portrayal of the caravan migrants as “criminals” and “gang members.”
Trump officials said that authorities had to respond with force after hundreds of migrants rushed the border near Tijuana on Sunday, some of them throwing “projectiles” at Customs and Border Protection personnel.
Chaos erupted Sunday around the bustling San Ysidro border crossing, which Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen said was closed “to ensure public safety in response to large numbers of migrants seeking to enter the U.S. illegally.”
But Democratic leaders, human rights advocates and others focused on the images of the two children in particular. Many pointed to the children left gagging from the gas attack as evidence that Trump’s push against a caravan of asylum seekers from Central America had gone too far.
“Shooting tear gas at children is not who we are as Americans,” Tom Perez, chairman of the Democratic National Committee, tweeted. “Seeking asylum is not a crime. We must be better than this.”

She is a terrible mother. She dragged her kids through 1000+ miles of hostile countryside, exposing them to known criminals, committed crimes herself in their presence, knowingly put her kids into a dangerous situation...and what, she is going to be held up for pity? In the US we have parents being castigated for merely disciplining their children. This mother should be vilified for what she is doing, not celebrated, not pitied.
Wonder how much the leader of each caravan got paid. These people sure aren’t doing this on their own.
The problem is the rule of law, which kept order, has been trashed for “whatever”.
The media reports that we should do the “whatever” and they use it for political gain. Compassion has no place in this... doing the RIGHT thing does! NO ONE thinks it’s a good thing to let thousands at a time invade our borders with the idea of living here.
Those who would say let them in, would not live with them.. and would not pay for their keep. We cannot afford to let that meny at a time come in.. illegally... for many more would come and our country would never survive that kind of onslaught from outside in.
We cannot have a successful country living with “whatever”. We have laws and those who break them must pay the consequences. That woman put the child in danger, using her as a shield. It was correct to stop them in whatever way they made happen. Rushing the border with a half naked baby is not smart... and we have to have control.. and if they make a situation where rubber bullets and teargas are needed... they force it and we deliver... to save our country.

A way to put a stop to this idiocy (obvious agitprop from the media) is to begin charging the organizers and their financiers with human trafficking and possibly RICO violations.

ow did “mama” make a march of 1,000 miles and keep that paunch? 8 weeks of basic combat training made me look like a department store model.... iWas a runner in h.s.,I was so thin when I went in I gained 6-7 pounds in basic. but there were a lot of guys who lost weight. 1-200 burpies a day will do that to you along with about the same number of pushups and sit ups. and on your belly, on your back on your belly on your feet on your back on your belly.. ad nauseum...
Thinkin’ paint balls filled with a cayenne pepper solution might do the trick. Saw something on a news ticker at the bottom of the screen last night saying the trespasser threw “what appeared to be rocks” at the BP. Uh, as I recall from being a kid a LONG time ago, rocks friggin’ hurt and can do some damage. The original assault weapon. Maybe that should be the new abbreviation for them. BP officers were attacked with OAWs of various sizes.

Democrats are complicit. They know the purpose of this is to try to make Trump look bad. And if he caves and lets them in, the floodgates will be open for wave after wave.
The kid’s feet don’t even look like they’ve been the open sewer water behind them.
These kids look like they’re in diapers. Expensive disposable kind. I’d say they’re pretty old to be in diapers. Where do they get them and where are they disposed?

Apparently she expects to waltz right in, put the kids in school, sign up for welfare and watch telenovellas all day.
