I’ve not seen an ad for fast or junk food in forever but i still eat way too much of it and am a fat ####.
So much for the science behind not letting ads up.
And YES, I know the calories, fat, etc. content in quite a few.
Gave up drinking and gambling. Can’t seem to beat the food habit.
As i’m 50 and the weight is an immediate danger, my 86 year old mom suggested taking up smoking lol.
It’s not without merit.
Possibly get cancer at 80 or drop at 53 from a heart attack!!
But they’re so expensive!

I consider myself overweight. I try to control that by drinking lots of water during the day, adding a lot of soups, fruits and vegs to the menu.
I still smoke, but it’s greatly reduced now compared to twenty years ago. Back in the 90’s I had my MORE Menthol cigarettes. I smoked a pack a day. That was when a whole carton was about $7.00, and the public’s attitude about smoking was different. Today a carton can run $45. or more.
Now, I smoke my Marlboro Ultra-Light Menthols.
I only smoke from three to five cigs a day now, if that.
Many times, I just want a few puffs for the flavor, then I’m all set for a while. Now, there are some apartment buildings that won’t rent to you, unless you smoke outside, or at least in the doorway, as I do. I have adjusted to the world of today.
Bottom line is, if I did not smoke those few cigarettes I do on a weekly basis, I probably would be eating even more food. IOW, Sometimes, Mother knows best. BUT in moderation.
***Many folks will use physical activity as a stimulant and diversion. This works too. Due to my ongoing foot problems, I don’t do a lot of physical activity, so I get resourceful.
