Good idea to hang around while they eat so he doesn’t snag their dinner. You’re feeding enough as it is.
If it was a stray, you’d have a heck of a time keeping him away from the food without a big stick. You’re probably correct that he’s just a visitor.
Another reason I think he’s a visitor is that he rarely ever shows up when I’m feeding them in the morning. That makes me think he’s in his own house somewhere. He’s awfully pretty...I hope he belongs to a family.
