Full Title: Here We Go: Office of Special Counsel Opens Investigation on Acting AG Matt Whitaker Over Hatch Act Violations

An independent federal investigative agency is looking into whether acting Attorney General Matthew Whitaker violated prohibitions on political activities by federal employees by accepting contributions to his 2014 Senate campaign earlier this year.

Last January and February, when Whitaker served as chief of staff at the Department of Justice, four individuals donated a total of $8,800 to the committee for Whitaker’s unsuccessful 2014 run for a Senate seat in Iowa, according to Federal Election Commission records.

Austin Evers, the executive director of the watchdog organization American Oversight, told CNN his group submitted a complaint to the Office of Special Counsel that argued Whitaker may have violated the Hatch Act, which prohibits federal employees from accepting political contributions.

That Trump is doing nothing to stand up to this, tells me a whole lot about how 2020 is going to go. Don’t get me wrong, Love Mr Trump and my heart goes out to him for all he is enduring. But it is long past time to make a stand.

If he hadn’t been making many successful stands all the time, in many different venues, he wouldn’t still be in office at this point. I consider your post a candy-coated attack on POTUS, which I am seeing more of lately, and to my disappointment, they are appearing more often on FR.

If Whitaker has ordered the restoration of the original scope of Mueller’s team, Rosenstein and Mueller would just ignore it anyway.

What is this office of Special Investigative Counsel? Who has formed it and what is its mission? Why was it formed? Who has allowed it? Who has oversight over it? What are the qualifications of those who are part of it? Has its formation been approved by the House and Senate, Judiciary and the Executive Branch?

It sounds like a usurpation of government’s role and development of a second government outside of our normal federal system. It is time for Gowdy or someone of his ilk to step in and put a stop to this.

One thing for damn sure is that President going to have to do something. They are out to get him and they make no secret of it, no bones about it. One of two things are going to happen:1. He will get them. 2. They will get him. There is no third option. If they get him, we go too. From their actions, I do not believe they respect either President Trump or us. They have siced their protected by the police, Brown Shirt goons on our side as they were peaceably demonstrating. And as the police looked on approvingly, they beat hell out of our demonstrators, particularly the elderly. They have tried to murder our Congress members while they were playing ball. That they were nt successful was not for lack of trying.

If this "committee" is a political action committee, or PAC, then it wasn't Whitaker but the PAC that was accepting the money. He wouldn't necessarily have approved or even known of the contribution.

How in the world is it in the Special Counsel’s purview to investigate Whitaker?

It will be interesting to see how this would be justified.

Anybody notice the dates of receipt of those transactions?
I don’t know what to make of it, but it’s interesting.

“This guy scares the heck out of Special Council, Deputy AG, Former FBI director Comey, McCabe, Hillary...]

Yes. And if they are worried, well, the thought of it warms my heart!!

Whitaker has lots of control over the Special Counsel, and boy are they panicked.

Whitaker wields control that matters too; who is subpoenaed, who is indicted, and who sees written reports by Mueller -— all are now done ONLY if Whitaker approves it. He’ll be wanting to see those billable hours too.....

Mueller must be hating life these days!

“One thing for damn sure is that President going to have to do something.”

Yup. This is way worse than most people realize. Trump needs to do a national address from the oval office laying out the entire high treason conspiracy against him. Then call out the marines and start rounding people up.

Military tribunals, treason trials and mass hangings on the national mall.

What they are trying to do is get Rosenstein elevated. They trust him to keep up clandestine attacks against Trump while covering up their current and prior misdeeds. Step one is to get rid of Whitaker. They tried to get him to recuse himself, that failed. They tried to get Trump to withdraw him, that failed too. Now they shift to creating a fake outrage about a fake scandal over nothing.

The arrests need to happen already, we can see they keep trying different coup attempts and won’t stop.

No, Ransomnote. It is not an attack on POTUS. I am just very worried that the swamp cleaning that needs to take place is not. Now, I know you are one of those Q-people, still trusting in Sessions, and some kind of bread... But the key to 2020 won't be Kim and NK, as awesome a feat as it is. The key to 2020 is for the public to see swamp cleanup activities put on full display.

I am not attacking POTUS. I think he is amazing, and I pray for him daily. But him to win 2020, the public needs to see justice finally executed.

And did Hillary solicit or accept any campaign contributions towards her future presidential run, during her tenure as Secretary of State?
