I actually understand what Roberts was trying to do here. He just went about it the totally wrong way. He sees the real danger of politicizing a legal process, but his statement — if he felt obligated to make one — should have included a recognition that is country is in dire straits because people with a political agenda that has no place in our country have used the legal system to impose their own political agenda on all of us.
He knew exactly what he was doing - creating a firestorm for a recused and a deadlock, letting the 9th circuit stand.
If that is the case,he is a day late and a dollar short. The Democrat Party has long ago politicized every process known to man. And a few that were not known.
