Watchdog group American Oversight filed three complaints against Acting Attorney General Matthew Whitaker on Wednesday, alleging that he may have violated the Hatch Act, which restricts political activities by federal employees.
The group, founded by a former Obama State Department attorney, claims that Whitaker's recently released financial disclosure forms reveal undisclosed conflicts of interest.
The nations highest law enforcement officer should be above reproach, but Acting Attorney General Whitakers financial disclosures raise potential concerns of both dishonesty and covert partisan conflicts of interest, said Austin Evers, the group's executive director.
The group filed their complaint alleging Hatch Act violations to the Office of Special Counsel, and filed the others to the Office of Government Ethics and the Department of Justice's ethics office, alleging a failure to disclose.
"Until we get answers about Whitakers conflicts of interest and honesty, the public will suffer from a crisis of confidence about the rule of law under this administration," Evers, American Oversight's executive director, said in a statement.
The Justice Department did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Whatever.
Libtards will go anywhere, say anything, do whatever, with a total lack of self awareness. This position he takes here means that Attorneys General are simply not alowed to quit or die. They must serve because Democrats say so. LMAO
Another group of seditious traitors. It’s sickening to see every single thing Trump tries to do or every person he tries to appoint is immediately attacked by these ‘tards. They are quite actively working AGAINST the people of the United States. I’d call it domestic terrorism—from Brenda Snipes trying to influence elections to the Kavanaugh brouhaha to Ivanka’s emails (but never Hillary’s), and stuff like this.
Right, like....Eric Holder. Now THERE was an apolitical AG.
They still have to deal with 65 million of us that will support him to the hilt
I wish these fag “watchdog groups” would stick to probing each other and let the adults do the government sh*t.

Can you say Deep State?
“The nations highest law enforcement officer should be above reproach”
How about the “Special Counsel” whose current title holder has multiple conflicts of interest, recorded judgements against him that resulted in rebukes and reversals, and is credibly accusable at this moment in history of engaging in a campaign of sedition?
So, don’t stand in the way of confirmation of a candidate to be Attorney General when Trump nominates one.
But NOOOO, the renegades in the Senate want the issue so much more than they would ever want a resolution.
I’m talking to YOU, Chuck Schumer. If you won’t be part of the solution, you inevitably become part of the problem.
Quite the team and board.. Left as ya can get..

Not seeing any complaints related to the Hatch Act.
If they were dishonest or covert, he wouldn't have included them in his financial disclosures.
Taking money [~$300,000 personally & $8,800 to a campaign committee] and doing nothing doesn’t seem to me to be a violation of the Hatch Act.
Since DJTrump was announced as the winner of the 2016 Presidential Election, they go after this president every second of every minute of every day.
They’ll make noise and Trump will win. Either Whitaker or a permanent AG they’ll hate even more.
“American Oversight is a non-partisan, nonprofit ethics watchdog and is the top Freedom of Information Act litigator investigating the Trump administration.”

This is rich considering no such complaint was filed against Mueller, Comy, Rosenstein etc etc by this group. Description of the group should be “partisan group” not watchdog group.
