The White House has signed a memo granting the troops stationed at the border authority to engage in some law enforcement and to use lethal force if they are in danger, according to a report in Military Times.
White House Chief of Staff John Kelly signed the memo, which allows troops to assist the Border Patrol in crowd control and even detaining illegal immigrants, the paper reported.
The memo appears to make good on President Trump’s insistence that the military play a more active role in preventing the migrant caravans from overrunning the U.S. border, as they did a month ago on Mexico’s southern border.
Homeland Security signaled it would welcome the assistance.

Then she has a comment like, "our people will not be put in harms way". Another wtf moment. Every time that BP agent puts on his uniform (and some times even without it) he/she is in "harms way". I don't know about this woman.
At the first rock or any other object thrown at the troops, an M855, Green Tip, should be going the other way. If it over penetrates and hits the person behind the intended target, oh well. That’ll stop the object throwing pretty quick.

1978 - Posse Comitatus Act
1916 - Battle of Columbus (New Mexico) - US military used against Mexican civilians at border and inside Mexico w/o Declaration of War. This was followed by not only Pershing’s military expedition into Mexico, but the stationing of 100,000 troops at the bordered - armed and loaded for action.
1918 - Battles of Ambos Nogales (Arizona) - US military used against Mexican military & civilians w/o Declaration of War against Mexico

Last Month I Searched out a bunch of info on it and Posted it on one of the “Troops going to Border” Threads.
IIRC it was one about the 82nd or 101st prepping to move out.
Heck We learned about it in Jr High History Class.
I’m getting Sick and Tired of the Redux darned near every day here.
What Trump SHOULD DO is simply close the border with TJ, seal it, and then wait for the 9th Circuit to rule on the rouge judge.
That would speed things up a bit, to say the least.
