How can that possibly be related to lynchings? Lynchings by definition are not public. Public hangings were capital punishment, no matter what you’re race. Were all people hanged black? By the way, I am “down here”, and this whole controversy is nothing bu typical MSM BS directed at a Republican candidate. It’s a shame people eat this stuff up.
Because when you’re running for office in a highly charged environment that’s hostile to your political party, it’s on you to think twice about your comments. The same sh*t happened to George Allen here in VA in ‘06. His re-election was all but assured, then on that fateful day, let his guard down, made that “macaca” remark and then paid for it on Election Day.
I fervently hope she wins; we need the seat... but she committed a very boneheaded unforced error here. I hope she recovers.
