President Trump's Standing Is Slipping With The Military, For Good Reason (barf alert)
National Review... naturally ^ | 11/21/18 | David French

Posted on 11/21/2018 5:49:36 AM PST by Cassius Flavia Agrippa

...Interestingly, this was after a number of positive things Trump had done. He’d increased the defense budget considerably. He’d presided over the end of ISIS’s physical caliphate (though of course not over the end of ISIS itself). His administration had aggressively sought to reform the VA.

Here goes NR, pulling a famous old democrat stunt: find somebody who is "untouchable" to attack a republican. Remember the "Jersey Girls" and remember that muslim waving his pocket constitution at the dem convention? See, they had suffered, and so they could enter politics without ever being questioned, just like John McCain.

Along comes this piece of filth McRaven, and what does he do? Does he criticize Trump's policies in a sober, decent, measured way, or does he sound exactly and precisely like Maxine Waters for God's sake? He comes out sounding like the farthest of the far left whacko filth that is destroying this nation. Trump's criticizing the filthy press is the "greatest threat to democracy" in McRaven's lifetime?????!!!!! Really?

French says that Trump crosses a line by responding to this attack. How's this for threats to democracy, French--the idea that the military can enter into politics and never ever ever be questioned on their views is something straight out of every military dictatorship I've ever known of. The Germans are especially known for bowing down to ANYTHING in a uniform.

And the press? 10 trillion words could be written on press corruption in this country and how they are destroying the country. So McRaven would have the press, who are destroying the nation, be beyond criticism. Spoken like a true hard-core piece of filth democrap.

All the FAKE NEWS just keep pounding on our President to make sure in 2 years the average voter will turn against him. That is all this is. My question is what can we do to assist him in getting his message out the average voter.

An arrogant, contemptuous turncoat that can’t admit he’s on the wrong side of history.

Having said what I said above, it is time for Mr. Trump to up his game and stop taking the bait. Should he he have responded to McRaven? Absolutely!! But not by the route he took. He has to stop the playground stuff as whether we want to admit it or not, it is hurting him.

He should have said, “as with all our military veterans and active duty members I have the greatest of respect. Unlike prior administrations I support them bigot. I support them. But that doesn’t mean the admiral is an expert on the issue of the unfair and hostile treatment I receive from the press. Let the Admiral run for office as a Republican and then he can tell me he how feels about the media then. I can assure you, if he did run for office as a Republican, they won’t have the respect for his military record that they show when he criticizes me.

Finally, I missed the admirals position on the media’s treatment of my physician, a serving naval officer.”

Dude! That was VERY good, especially the run as a republican part and the personal physician part.

I would have it McRaven a little harder, though, Remember, McRaven’s critique was Maxine Waters style over the top vicious and insane.

I suppose, just try to enlighten those in your travel circle to the truth about President Trump. Also the truth about his enemies. That is what my son does. He says he has managed to change some people’s minds.

If a response is more than a few words as a takeaway on Twitter then what you’re suggesting is useless. That’s what President Trump understands and you don’t.

“McRaven’s critique was Maxine Waters style over the top vicious and insane”...………..Time for Trump to “down size” the military by one admiral. Seems fair to me.

I would not be surprised if McRaven winds up in charge of some God forsaken island in the Pacific no one has ever heard of. At a minimum, he will NEVER receive another advancement. Better yet, find a reason to demote the traitor.

He’s retired. He’s also an obama guy who Hillary is said to have considered as a running mate.

Call McRraven back to active duty, he is still subject, as a retired officer, to the UCMJ, and the UCMJ specifically prohibits defaming elected officials....

It’s a cop out to suggest all the officers sniping at POTUS are Democrats. Clearly, some are not. But that shouldn’t be a surprise when the retired brass have top cover from “conservative” media like NR.

He loves the troops who love him. He turns on the troops who turn on him. Cross him, and all bets are off.......................... ????? Whooooa! Who is he talking about here? It sounds more like Obama. How many Flag officers has Trump removed since he was in office? As a former officer, I don’t care who is in power, so long as they got there legitimately. The country comes first, not the political parties. The military has their own rules, they are not a political organization or anyone’s private Army. If there are whiners (disapprove’ers), why did they join, out of patriotism, for a sex change, or enhanced boobs? There are many Obama era soldiers still in the military, who think like Obama. Many went in due to the shortage of jobs. I experienced that in the early 80’s when I had troops with college degrees serving as EM. Over all, I feel the Army wants a leader who is decisive, not a pussy footer. We don’t need a receding sand red line drawer.(BTW, have you seen the new(Old) Army uniforms?? They’re retro, but they look great, kinda like Clark Gable’s.)

No, it’s not a cop out. It’s the truth. McRaven is a far left creep.

Art 2 UCMJ- retired members receiving pay- subject to the UCMJ

Art 88 UCMJ
“Any commissioned officer who uses contemptuous words against the President, the Vice President, Congress, the Secretary of Defense, the Secretary of a military department, the Secretary of Transportation, or the Governor or legislature of any State, Territory, Commonwealth, or possession in which he is on duty or present shall be punished as a court-martial may direct.”

Elements
(1) That the accused was a commissioned officer of the United States armed forces;

(2) That the accused used certain words against an official or legislature named in the article;

(3) That by an act of the accused these words came to the knowledge of a person other than the accused; and

(4) That the words used were contemptuous, either in themselves or by virtue of the circumstances under which they were used. Note: If the words were against a Governor or legislature, add the following element

(5) That the accused was then present in the State, Territory, Commonwealth, or possession of the Governor or legislature concerned.

Explanation
The official or legislature against whom the words are used must be occupying one of the offices or be one of the legislatures named in Article 88 at the time of the offense. Neither “Congress” nor “legislature” includes its members individually. “Governor” does not include “lieutenant governor.” It is immaterial whether the words are used against the official in an official or private capacity. If not personally contemptuous, adverse criticism of one of the officials or legislatures named in the article in the course of a political discussion, even though emphatically expressed, may not be charged as a violation of the article.

Similarly, expressions of opinion made in a purely private conversation should not ordinarily be charged. Giving broad circulation to a written publication containing contemptuous words of the kind made punishable by this article, or the utterance of contemptuous words of this kind in the presence of military subordinates, aggravates the offense. The truth or falsity of the statements is immaterial.
