American’t: From Midterms to End Times (Here comes The American Apocalypse - best article ever)
American Thinker ^ | Selwyn Duke

Posted on 11/20/2018 2:24:53 AM PST by RoosterRedux

Truly great disasters come like a thief in the night. How many foresaw Rome’s sacking in 410 A.D., her collapse 66 years later, WWI or WWII? As for today, how many see that the United States is at what some call a tipping point, what others may call a Fourth Turning? Whatever you call it, the American republic is in its last days. This is too scary for many to contemplate, but there’s something far scarier: playing ostrich and not being prepared for things to come.

The so-called Left, ever violent since its French Revolution birth and as power hungry as ever, wholly controls the culture: the media, mainstream and social; academia; and entertainment. This means it controls long-term politics, since the latter is downstream of culture. So is big business, mind you, which is why the Left controls most of it as well; this, of course, translates into funding.

Trump’s 2016 victory will not MAGA; it was merely a stay of execution, a prolonging of the inevitable. This should have been obvious in a country that could elect Barack Obama and then, like the Titanic having backed up to hit the iceberg again, re-elect him. If it wasn’t, it should be obvious now that the Democrats have seized the House in a Watergate-level rout.

...

There no longer is an “American people”; there are peoples living in America. We’re balkanized not just racially, ethnically and religiously, but also ideologically, sexually and philosophically; we speak different languages, literally and figuratively. With open talk of open-borders socialism on one side and nationalism on the other, the Overton window is now so wide that each end occupies a different time zone. Frankly, many of us hate each other. If our union were a marriage, we’d have divorced long ago.

optimism gives way to realism.

I have often wondered what the OT people thought when the prophets came by and said they would be captured and carried away?

This was not a good question as it didn’t lead me to many answers.

A BETTER QUESTION IS , “WHAT WILL I REGRET AFTER I AM CAPTURED AND CARRIED AWAY?”

1) my wealth will be destroyed, it could have been spent for freedom. I will regret not sending more money to Trump, Free Republic and other good conservative causes. Notice I said GOOD.

2) My wealth will be destroyed, it could have been invested in the Kingdom. Those with Bibles will understand.

There are others, but the point is DO NOW, WHAT YOU WILL REGRET not doing when your are captured and carried away.

We need to take back K-12 education and Trump should have passed sweeping school choice/voucher bills when he had the chance. Individual states need to move to School reform as well.

Second, we need to take back the media, public companies can be purchased. A handful of Conservative Billionaires can easily purchase controlling interests in Comcast and the like.

Third, we need to build the wall and change our ridiculous immigration policies.

Lastly, we need to overhaul or Republican Party at the grassroots committee levels and expunge the establishment running these committee’s. This will enable us to nominate attractive conservative candidates.

Profound, though even too optimistic. I rejoiced when Trump won, seeing it as a reprieve, but as the mid-term exampled, the tide is increasingly to the Left. From a secular POV, Republican failure to aggressively expose and attack the Left and evangelize immigrants, such as by showing them the long-term consequences of their ethos is partly to blame. Republicans seem to take the conservative vote for granted, and thus appeal to the Left by not appearing to oppose them.

However, spiritual blindness is the real problem, and actually the only hope is for spiritual revival, but which might take a devastating war to bring a country to its senses. A person or country can often survived adversity and affliction, but rarely affluence. And thus the words of LINCOLN'S PROCLAMATION of a NATIONAL FAST DAY are most applicable today than then.

And i can understand the anger of some who attack this somewhat prophetic type warning, if their vision was that of some Mayberry RFD under a Ronald Regan, which generation is gone.

Meanwhile, the NT church had a far far worse political environment, yet the persecuted church knew that they were pilgrims on foreign soil, and the remnant kept rank marching to Zion, the city of God, whose builder and maker is God. We need their faith and vision still.

Yep, every now and then I assure people not to worry about W Europe. Power is the result of technology which in turn is a function of IQ.

At some point, a Muslim western Europe will be susceptible to encroachment from the east. Franklin's advice about keeping what you have works both ways.

Same true in N America - media brainwashing has (some) people convinced history on their side. Little do they know what replaces leftist (banker) tyranny - the rise of the traditional (military) state aka kings.

I was hoping Trump was the guy to see/act on what needed to be done, but I'm beginning to suspect he recognized a good angle, and talked a good game to satisfy his own ego by becoming president.

That's ok too however; just defers the future. Maybe not our generation, but it will happen regardless.

I think Trump was surprised to discover that his and our domestic enemy is larger, more sophisticated, and more entrenched than he expected.

That said, at 71 years old, he is working on his legacy and that includes trying to rescue to the country from the aforementioned enemy.

“Why is Trump bothering to fight so hard against the caravans? “

Maybe because millions of others will follow if these aren’t stopped.

“in the face of advancing anti-Christianity.”

Anti-Christianity and militant secularism are more of a problem in Europe, Canada and even the U.S. than south of the border.

It is wishful thinking to think that we can now divide the USA into two parts. The Leftist Dems want it ALL.

I agree.

Red and blue voters are scattered all over the country...in all states, cities and towns, and out in the country-side.

So splitting up the country is just an unworkable solution.

I think we are looking at a war to the death.

And we here at FR are, for the most part, quite sure the Left is comfortable with the fight ending with our deaths.

The biggest problem, as I see it, is that though the Left is organized and in full attack mode, the Right has no idea what is going on and is stumbling about wondering what to do next.

There are even commenters on this thread that think the very idea that the Left has declared war against the Country and its Constitution is nothing but conspiracy thinking.

Apparently these folks have been napping. Or perhaps they believe in fairy tales.

Why is that even a question?

History has shown us what minorities are treated like!

Does communism work? No, not under the medium/long term. So will the democrats win? No, not in the long term.

However, we may not be able to stop our fellow countrymen from trying it, and so in the short run, we are living through a very dangerous time.

[I just read a book about the French Resistance called Saboteur. Worth the read.]

By Paul Kix? I’ll put that on my list to check out.

I have lately started to think that the Left's idea of socialism/communism being the goal is a ruse used to keep their foot soldiers placated. Socialism/communism sounds nice to those who have been propagandized by the media, Hollywood, and academia into believing that such a system brings fairness to all.

The real goal is totalitarianism with a nod to oligarchy.

As Jordan Peterson says (paraphrasing Jung): People don't have ideas (or ideologies). Ideas have people.

Jung thought that there were metaphysical forces behind ideas and ideologies.

Once look at the Democratic Party and the idea of demonic possession by ideology begins to make sense.

Alinsky thought so too.

Yes. Anyone who claims to follow Christ, but refuses to admit this world is fallen, and America will one day fall, is flouting Scripture.

I wouldn't disagree with that, although the foot soldiers still need something to believe in. But if they win, it will create a true hereditary ruling class, more like the middle ages.
