A federal judge in San Francisco on Monday barred the Trump administration from refusing asylum to immigrants who cross the southern border illegally, likely prompting a legal challenge from the White House.
Trump issued a proclamation on Nov. 9 that said anyone who crossed the southern border would be ineligible for asylum.
U.S. District Judge Jon S. Tigar, who was nominated by President Obama in 2012 to the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, issued a temporary restraining order after hearing arguments in San Francisco.

Trump should just ignore it since this judge has no authority to block something of this nature. The ACLU is flat out wrong on this one. But, what would one expect from an Obama appointee?
The whole lower court judicial activism needs to be addressed by the congress. Pass legislation limiting thier rulings to their districts. This will setup a show down in the USSC.
But I have my doudts that the supremes will rule against their own, regardless of the makeup of the court.
Nobody who crosses either the southern or northern border should be eligible for asylum. Neither Mexico nor Canada oppress people within their borders, so anybody entering the US from either country is already free from oppression and thus has no legitimate claim for asylum in America.
What do you mean? Higher courts slap down lower courts all the time!

That is exactly what it is. On the other hand these people have figured out how to work the system. Trump needs to ignore the judge, cite the constitution and push it to congress. Otherwise our country is done.
I realize that but this would be the ultimate smack down to end all of this non-sense. That’s when they would take a long look in the mirror and just maybe....
A radio report said the judge claimed that the president violated the law. But no one has said what section of the United States Code requires that asylum seekers must be accepted no matter where they cross. Is it that hard for the press to either link to the ruling or extract out “as stated in USC connection xx.xx”.
Understood and that makes it easier to add the deal about refusing to grant asylum to those who enter illegally...the “judges” will nitpick it to death to obstruct the best President ever....
