Do conservatives really want a national police ? Karma happens. Conservatives lauded the FBI. How did that work out? Leftist Demz started HCUA in the 30s to ferret out Nazi sympathizers. In the late 40s to the 60s...that did not work out well either.
There is, the FBI. Along with local police and is some areas joint task forces. It's their job. As a matter of policy, they consider right wing groups a greater threat. If they were out there, they'd be watching the conservative protestors. The local police would be responsible for keeping order and making arrests in incidents like this. They were there, and did nothing.
