WASHINGTONA federal judge granted an emergency motion to restore the White House press credential of CNN correspondent Jim Acostaa victory for the network in a closely watched press-freedom case.
The lawsuit could determine whether the government can ban individual reporters from public buildings.
District Judge Timothy Kelly, who was appointed to the bench by President Trump, granted CNNs request for a restraining order temporarily restoring Mr. Acostas press access to the White House while the case proceeds.
Lawyers for Mr. Acosta, the networks chief White House correspondent, argued that the unusual revocation of a reporters press pass by the White House last week necessitated emergency action.

Judges think that they are all the boss of presidents.
Backrow seat no questions, or in holding area no questions.
Even better.
PRESIDENT Trump needs to call an “emergency” session of SCOTUS and have them explain to the American people where little Timmy the ***hole judge gets the authority to do this. This is treason.
Disgusting jackass of a judge. NO press conferences until case is heard.
Then does Infowars gets a pass. Alex has 10 times the viewers than CNN.
At least pull the cameras. CNN is a TV network. Pull cameras from the briefings.
They can ban ME from the building easily. The SAME first amendment gives me the right to peaceably assemble.
And an “emergency”? What irreparable damage would come from waiting for his case?
That’s what I’d do. Simple
Judges are ENTITLED people.
They see other ENTITLED people like
Acosta as “special”. above all others.
Can you get a WH Press pass?
Who shall decide? The DC “Judges” or
the lawyers that control them
-or the Law (for a change).
This...
Knew it.
Another politician in a black robe. Wonder what his price was to ignore the law?
So much for Trump picking sensible judges. This kind of ruling has a daisy chain effect that trickles down to so many events in society. This judge just turned everything we know on its head. Disruption and disorder can no longer be controlled. The whole country just became Antifa.
Not sure why your thread, with over 200 posts was pulled. I get no dupe threads, but...lots of good info, on your thread.
What you’d posted, on the other thread....
Being Reported:
Judge Kelly is referencing a previous case, which he says did set a precedent where a journalists fifth amendment right to due process would apply to a case like this.
Kelly agreed with the White House that there is no First Amendment right to be on the White House grounds, but added that Acosta did not receive due process before his pass was revoked.
Judge agrees with the White House that there is no first amendment right to come onto the White House grounds. HOWEVER once they do open up WH grounds to reporters but denies others, first amendment comes into play.
Judge Kelly further explained that Trump is not required to call on Acosta at press events but that Acostas First Amendment rights are more important than the White House being able to have orderly press conferences.
Judge Kelly says Trump need not ever call on Jim Acosta again, but Acosta is owed due process if his hard pass is going to be revoked.
Kelly says plaintiffs have shown likelihood fifth amendment rights were violated, and there is irreparable harm.
The case, however, is not over. Judge Kelly provided temporary relief to CNN, but there will be additional hearings before an official ruling is handed down on whether the White House violated CNNs First and Fifth Amendment rights.

I am SMH, over this entire Judge/Acoster/presspass nonsense, as well.
My oath is to the US Constitutions against all enemies foreign and DOMESTIC.
The US Government, especially the Judicial system, has failed to uphold the Constitutional rule of law. They have voided my oath by failing to obey the US Constitution.
NOTICE OF HEARING
To: Jim Acosta
Please take NOTICE that the White House Press Office will conduct a HEARING on the 23rd day of November to consider the revocation of your hard pass. This action is being taken based on your recent assault of a WH microphone intern. Please be prepared to submit at that time any and all facts or argument you wish this office to consider in the event you intend to object to the revocation of your pass
Never call on or allow acosta access to a mic ever again.
How the judge can say the contact with the intern was not clearly physical demonstrates the judge is a hack, a democRAT HACK.
Intern should demand acosta apologize. . .then sue his whiny juvenile cowardly butt.
Ok revoke everyone’s press pass. Simply stop wasting time on this clown show. What are they going to do?
Why they cry about it, tell them to take it up with CNN and Acosta
Ok, revoke all hard passes for all correspondents until Acosta’s suspension is up.
If another suit is filed - move the press conferences to a federal building outside of the White House.
