Sen. Jeff Flake announced Wednesday that he will not vote to advance any new judicial nominees through the Judiciary Committee, nor will he vote to confirm picks on the Senate floor, until he gets his way on unrelated legislation to prevent the firing of special counsel Robert Mueller.
Mr. Flake made the announcement on the Senate floor minutes after his bid to pass the bill failed.
His threat could block the committee from approving any more judges this year, since the GOP only holds a one-seat majority on the panel.
Its less catastrophic to approving judges on the Senate floor, where the GOP holds 51 seats. Even losing Mr. Flake, Republicans could still approve judges on a 50-50 vote with Vice President Mike Pence breaking the tie.

I know this is silly, but wouldn’t replacing all committee members after retiring or losing on the first Monday following the election make sense.
Remember, both Grassley and McConnell have been stellar on President Trump’s judicial nominees.
Recess appointments are for one year and do not receive a salary.
Remove Flake from the committee, Sen McConnell.
Hopefully, Yertle can just foot-drag any “Protect the Dirty Roach” BS until the next session, at which time that fudgepacker Flake will no longer have a say in the matter. If there’s one thing we all know Yertle is good at, it’s foot dragging.
wow
Easy Peasy! Fire Mueller today, no need for legislation. Done MAGA!
Remove him from the committee.
And this jackass thinks he’s going to challenge Trump in 2020? I’d write my own name in before I’d ever vote for this guy.
What a plus. They can’t block him on everything and they know he’ll be out in 2 years or less. That’s why most of them still support the corrupt state’s coup(Mueller) against Trump. They are POS. Every last one of them.
He’s a flake.
Go away Flake! JUST GO AWAY!
Trump has no intention of firing Mueller, ordering anyone to fire Mueller, or limit Mueller’s “investigation”. He’s one of his foils. Nancy is another. Flake is another. Jim Acosta...well...he’s the uber-foil.
McConnell has been fantastic

I agree. I’m not a fan of Mitch but do admit he has pushed a lot of justices through and deserves credit for that.
However, I remain skeptical about what can be done in the short time left in the legislative session, especially given Flake’s latest tantrum and antics.
Senator from Arizona...
I have no doubt that when the cabal picked Mueller as SP it was intended to go past the midterm elections into 2019, every member of that cabal should be prosecuted for conspiracy to overthrow the presidency.
