We used to call my mom “Old Leadfoot” when we were kids...there were six of us, and when we got unruly, my mom would speed the car up (a 1964 Chrysler New Yorker station wagon with a 413 cubic inch motor in it!) until we screamed and cried for her to slow down!
Nowadays that would be child abuse, but back then...it was just a crazed woman trying to raise six kids!
Times have changed. lol
I still have a good driving record. But, my sons, who recently started driving, suddenly seem nervous with me behind the wheel.
One day a few months ago, while driving with a son in the passenger seat, I saw a cool-looking SUV, and this happened:
ME (pulling as close as possible to get a better look): “Look at the car in front of us. Isn’t it nice?”
SON (looking at me nervously): “Yes, it would be a shame if something happened to it.”
LOL.
