When America's powerful pro-gun group told doctors to mind their own business, the response was swift, furious and viral.
"Unless you've had someone's heart stop beating in your hands, you don't get to tell those of us who have what is and is not our 'lane'," trauma surgeon David Morris, 42, told the BBC.
The National Rifle Association's tweet on Wednesday sparked anger.
It came just hours before a gunman killed 12 people in a California bar.
"Someone should tell self-important anti-gun doctors to stay in their lane," the NRA tweeted.

She was well up there in years by any standard, but they were pretty irresponsible to have performed the particularly invasive procedure on a woman her age. She developed - no surprise - an infection that killed her.
But hey... fetuses and geriatrics are worth less nowadays.
Yeah, what is that number for “medical misadventure” deaths anyway doc? 100 or 200 thousand/ yr?
I like #My2nd
I know what you mean but I’d call that another symptom. Anyone who shoots another person in a rage has mental problems that go back a long ways. Which brings us back full circle; firearms are not the problem.
Guns sdidn’t send anyone to the hospital unless it malfunctioned or exploded. There was a CRIMINAL pulling every single trigger.
RESIST
They will try to argue that's different.

Good point, if a person is that mentally off, they would use any means, a knife, choking, not just a gun.
But it does seem like most partners are lunatics, not spouses of a decade or so. It doesn’t seem like people are making healthy decision with their lives anymore. Not being very judicious in their choices. Probably because relationships are all throw away now. Just like all the Chinese stuff.

It is different. Abortion “doctors” are trained in medical schools and make a lot of money ripping babies apart and doctors like Stephanie don’t have a problem with it.
Their anger is pretty selective. Why aren't they for killing the killers?
Priceless coming from the medical profession as a whole that make billions on abortion: pharmaceuticals, equipment, procedures and the remains of aborted babies for “science”. Furthermore, doctors approximately kill 650,000 via abortion and 250,000 patients by malpractice per year. Lastly, the one common denominator of most mass shootings is the fact that the perpetrator is mentally ill in some form and was reported to authorities including mental health doctors and law enforcement.
Doctors kill 200,000 people every year because of their mistakes.
Physician heal thyself!
Also, someone should remind these left-wing medical marvels that innocent people use firearms millions of time per year to protect and defend themselves from violent criminals.
That adds up to vast numbers of people who DON’T wind up in their “lane,” because they chose NOT to be a victim.
Since “medical” errors kill 250,000 people each year, shouldn’t these doctors be policing their own profession? Of course, they are LIB asshat political ideologues so don’t hold your breath. What anti-Freedom nitwits.
Thsi is not you lane when it come to my constitution right. You can stick that so-lane up your butts.Maybe doctors should concentrate on fixing there on problem
