What difference does it make that it was the Monarchy? That was the govt at the time. Their Navy/soldiers were here fighting with us. Just like we fought for them. Likewise it doesn’t matter that they also had a self interest in our fight with the Brits. If they hadn’t helped we would have LOST. Sure they have sh***y leaders now and turned into surrender monkeys, but they still get some credit.
