While ABCs World News Tonight and the CBS Evening News largely stuck Friday to the investigation into the Thousand Oaks, California bar shooting and the grieving families, NBC Nightly News went political.
Their strategy? Well, NBC took it upon itself to push gun bans and gun control with support from both a doctors group that the National Rifle Association (NRA) had tweeted about (before the shooting) and comments from a grieving mother calling for no more guns.
Also, a war of words erupts, the NRA versus doctors fed up and speaking up after the latest mass shooting in America. And a mom whose son survived the Vegas massacre only to die in that bar issues a thundering call to action, anchor Lester Holt proclaimed in one of the newscasts teases.
Later at the eight-minute mark and after a news brief on the victims, Holt transitioned to bashing the NRA with a lead-in to correspondent Catie Becks report: The NRA has not commented on the massacre but something the gun lobby group tweeted just hours before it happened has sparked a fierce feud with many of the nations doctors.
Beck first took up the cause of Susan Orfanos, whos son Telemachus was killed at the bar after he survived last years Las Vegas shooting.
She spoke to reporters earlier in the day and demanded gun control and ruled that she doesnt want anyone praying for her. Instead, she wants guns wiped off the map.
With that opening, she went after the NRA for a tweet sent before the shooting that was critical of the American College of Physicians, which wants to be able to tell patients about gun safety. Any notion that it wouldnt involve direct lobbying for gun control is a farce.

Who knows, should the libtards every try actually banning all guns, we can get CW-II over and done with. It will not be easy, but necessary. Every septic tank needs to be cleansed occasionally.
My first taste was while living in New Jersey. I used to regularly go to gun shows in Pennsylvania with some friends, and buy many normal capacity magazines. Every single time we were on the way back and passed over the state border, I realized how unfree we really were, since we were technically multiple felons just by the mere act of crossing over an artificial line.
I fondly remember leaving New Jersey on the way to Texas. When we hit the “Welcome to Delaware” sign, I turned to my wife and told her that she would no longer have to worry about bailing me out of jail. She looked at me with very wide eyes and an open mouth, and I explained New Jersey’s magazine ban to her. She asked me how many I had, and I told her that it was about 200 years’ worth in state prison. She turned as white as a sheet, and said nothing for about 30 seconds. She then asked if they had laws like that in Texas. I told her that they didn’t, as Texas was in America. Unfortunately, in the intervening 18 or so years, nothing has changed. I am hopeful that sometime in the next few years, after Ginsberg is replaced with a Justice who can actually read the Constitution, that there may be a case that liberates over 100 million of our fellow citizens who are living in fascist States.
What these anti-gun morons do not understand is the very simple fact that the continued existence of even a weak form of the Second Amendment is protecting their lives. I have mentioned that to a few of them over the years, and when they actually understand what I’m trying to communicate to them, they look almost as if they have been physically assaulted. I let them know that I am not kidding, and that if they try to take people’s means of self-defense and defense of Liberty that there is going to be trouble like the world has never seen in the last six thousand years.

“Evil people will devise a way to kill others regardless of any law written.”
You are absolutely correct. You are not going to stop a man with a plan. I don’t care how many laws, restrictions on law abiding people or magic signs declaring a place “Gun free”, the man with the plan is going to strike.
There is no where in this world that is snowflake safe.
1. Ban the guns.
2. THEN, they’ll hear the “thundering action”.
Ex-Marine tells me the military
booted him, and he didn’t honorably
serve. What does his DD-214 show?
I believe I heard his mom wanted to get help but he didn’t or wouldn’t. Could just be idle speculation as well. Normally (I think) enlistments don’t end on odd years unless it’s a retirement. He did 5 years I think.
No guns.
It will go to knives. (See Great Britain, “used to be”)
No knives?
It will go to pointy things.
No pointy things?
It will go the fingernails and teeth.
At origin, it will still be human.
No humans? (See Agenda 21, “their plans to kill all of us”)
Not if we keep our guns.
Hmmmm. Oddly some residents have decided it’s time to be armed after the shooting. Found this article on Drudge that goes to USAtoday.
And hug your family and pack a lunch
It’s just another drum beat as they always do..although Pelosi has said gun control is their top priority now. Expect we’ll be hearing this drumbeat for weeks and of course Hollywood will get in on the deal as well.
He was a machine gunner throughout that time I understand....that’s enough to give anyone PTSD if not given relief and handled rightly when assigned.
I'm not sure what this means. How does being a machine gunner give PTSD? An m1a1 gunner then must get mega PTSD with the cannon ? I know of no relief, handling that gives any pre mental PTSD support when being assigned to a unit or unit hardware position. From what I understand, PTSD is a condition some suffer AFTER being involved in a traumatic situation. I don't think the type of weapon assigned is enough to be considered a traumatic incident. IMO anyway.
I read that they were hired security. Most too old to be hanging around under aged kids and college kids anyway.
I live and carry every day in eastern PA, and if I accidentally miss an exit on the highway I am an instant felon for something I do everyday.
How is this NOT cruel and unusual punishment?
