Sessions set four goals for his tenure: to reduce the rates of murder, violent crime generally, opioid prescription fraud and drug overdose deaths. He achieved all four... just as impressive has been the refocusing of the departments efforts under Sessionss leadership to protect the liberties of Americans.

It’s not the AG’s job to break up social media monopolies. Antitrust is FTC.
Jeff Sessions, by needlessly recusing himself, turned a key Federal Law Enforcement Agency, weaponized by a previous corrupt administration, into a deadly lever to attempt the de-legitamization of a legally elected president, and contribute to the frustration of the goals which put him in office as well as cost the tax payers a fortune in a pointless and fraudulent investigation.
He will go down in history as the very WORST AG in US history. And it’s not just me saying it.
We’re he serving under any OTHER PRESIDENT , less under assault by the media, he would have been removed from office long ago.
Anything is possible. Not much is probable. The people your named were not going to roll over and the media and Congress (including RINOs) would counterattack. The media would lie and the suburban dimwits would vote to "protect democracy" or something like that. Already had some of that in this past election.
We live in a Republic, not a banana republic. I prefer thorough investigations including bipartisan commissions so we can tighten up the laws that allowed the deep state to do this. The alternative is power versus power. The Dems will cheat and get back in power and coopt the deep state yet again.
The root of the problem is the federal leviathan that surrounds the deep state. Too much power and taxpayer money for the bureaucracy and agencies. Cut the government and a lot of the crap will stop.
And impotent. Other than Mike Flynn who deserves a pardon as soon as he is sentenced (which might be never), everyone else (e.g. Manafort, Papadop, etc) is expendable. I would obviously take exception if Mueller attacked Trump's family. But he hasn't and I don't think he will. For one thing, the scumbag Glenn Simpson met with the same Russian lawyer and translator and others the day before and the day after Don Jr's Trump tower meeting.
That obviously means the Dems colluded with Russia via Perkins Coie and other scummy lawyers and political operatives like Simpson. Mueller knows that won't look good so he will let it slide. He'll put a passing reference to the Trump Tower meeting in his final report and that will be it.
A waste of money? Sure. And meaningless.
In a world where the greatest threats against our liberty were perpetrated at the highest levels within our government, Jeff Sessions the AG did absolutely NOTHING. No efforts to cover up this fact will succeed against the blatant evidence otherwise.
Sessions would be hard to replace? Are you friggin serious? What drugs are you using, because I want some.
I have never... NEVER... EVER had an employee within the first month of work their new job “excuse” themselves from doing their job.
What’s the matter with you? Never worked in your life? Never been around workers? Never paid taxes, had a supervisors or had a 360 degree review? Eh?
+1
Sessions is,and acted as a professional lawyer and he did a wonderful job! He served the Country well!
You are coming at the issue as a business man. Lawyer's eyes know different.
Lol!
Are you serious? “Enforce the law.”
An FBI examination of Hillary Clinton’s server found over 100 emails containing information that have been marked classified including 65 emails deemed “Secret” and 22 deemed “Top Secret.” The server that contained these emails was maintained by a Pakistani gentleman that sent all the emails to Pakistan for reasons unknown.
No action was taken. Yet, long standing and substantive laws were broken.
If Sessions job was to “enforce the law”, as you have so stated, then answer me why he was so SELECTIVE in doing so? Was it because [1] he was incompetent, or was it because [2] there are two sets of laws. One for the oligarchy and one for us peons.
What is the explanation? A or B.
Sessions WAS an employee.
[1] Anyone who is compensated for their labors financially is an employee. Don’t believe me, then check out the IRS definition as to what constitutes being an employee.
[2] If Sessions was not an employee as you state, then why did he hand in a resignation letter? Obviously, he certainly thought of himself as an employee.
He attacked the rampant illegality that riddled our immigration system, breaking the record for prosecution of illegal-entry cases and increasing by 38 percent the prosecution of deported immigrants who reentered the country illegally. Such numbers are impressive, but just as impressive has been the refocusing of the departments efforts under Sessionss leadership to protect the liberties of Americans.
Two of us here were Sessions fans... don't remember the other person's name...
That said, President Trump has the right to pick his own team - and replace them if and when he wants to... It's how our system works.
I don’t want to dump on him entirely, he is a good man, but really? Did a good job did he? He’s busy worrying about weed meanwhile the democrats are stealing this country. What did he do about that?
The fact that losers from the Bush admin are praising him tells me that he did nothing. In 20/20 hindsight he wasn’t the best choice. All we have to show for is a #$%^ing democrat sitting in his Senate seat.
Thank you for the lovely thread. I’m grateful to the role Sessions has played in preparing the way for the next phase of Trump’s agenda. I know history will bear out his honorable service and will outlast those who scream that he’s asleep etc. Again, thankQ for the fine thread honoring a fine man and patriot. :)
Plenty of Senators are dumb as rocks.
-1 LOL
His proper role was to use the office he to held to help save this country from the left. Holder used the office to do everything he could to further HIS bosses agenda and we should do the same, we can’t win by playing “fair”. You don’t bring a mint julep to a shiv fight in a prison yard.
Well I guess you should have been in charge instead of Trump, seeing as Trump has always been free to replace Sessions at any point and he went two years before doing so.
So how is it that you had judgement better than Trump? Was he stupid? Or are you just talking out of your ass as if you actually know what goes on between DOJ and the White House without them bothering to put you on the memo list. I know the answer to that one even if you don’t.
Oooooo testy. Chill out Kemo Sabe, no need to make this personal and set up stupid gotcha questions like asking me “Why I’m smarter than Trump”.
I’m the first to admit I don’t know nuffin other than how to be a great Monday morning QB! I can only go by my lying eyes and ears and this didn’t look like a successful tenure as AG or a good relationship between President and AG to me.
FReegards
He has to choose what and when to pursue any matter, so it could br reasons 3 through infinity. His judgment call, not yours.
