“I can’t believe we burned so much money on a longshot,”

Between Beto in 2018 and Ossoff in 2016, the Dems burned $100 million on two candidates that had almost zero chance to win.

“The not-overly-beloved Senator Cruz defeated Representative Beto O’Rourke by 2.6 percentage points in a race an incumbent Republican should have expected to win easily, on the same night Republican governor Greg Abbott won reelection by 13 points.”

The real question to be answered is why Texas stayed with Cruz after he stepped on his d!ck so badly in his Presidential “run.” Obviously, Texans were o.k. with Gregg Abbott, but they still were not sold on Cruz. It would be interesting to look at vote totals to see if Abbott voters didn't vote for Cruz, or if they voted for Beto. So the Republicans dodged a bullet here. The next question is what to do about the other a$$hole Senator you have in Texas? Cornhole is up in two years! Is he planning to run? Will he run like Cruz? Is there a Republican Conservative replacement for him? The Senate numbers favored the Rs this election, but the next two elections, it will be the other way around with more like twice as many R seats up as RAT ones. It would be a sorry situation to have The Senate go RAT along with Trump's re-election. I guess part of the answer lies in just how good a job the Senate does the next two years. They have a long way to go to be on my list of exemplary bodies.
