Of course the tech didn't create itself. I don't think you need as much funding as all that. It does take effort. Wanting others with deep pockets to fund it is a pipe dream. So we don't know tech. We learn it. Period. It's all available for us to learn right now. Does money help? Of course it does because it buys attention. But you don't need someone else to do it for you when you're fully capable of learning the tech necessary to get it going. In fact, there are probably clone scripts you can buy for under a grand. Modify it. You're in business. Same with any of these social media sites.

Waiting for someone else to create a bigger and better mousetrap is a recipe for something not getting done.

I never said wait, but running a site with the kind of traffic that FB and Twitter generate costs a good bit. You can get by early on with a low-budget operation - although a conservative site will almost certainly be under constant attack from the Left and hackers, so money will be needed to safeguard the site as much as possible. So, in the end, even a startup needs some cash at the beginning to remain viable until deeper, non-Leftist pockets can be found to take the site to the next level.

And what are you going to do about massive server farms?
