Patricia Heaton responds to Women’s March’s call for white women to do ‘a lot of growing’

Our apologies for bringing it up again, but it really seems to be the theme of the day that white women are a problem — if they voted like black women Tuesday, there might have been more of a blue wave. This “White women gonna white” tweet’s been going around all day:

Black women: 95% O'Rourke 97% Abrahms 82% Gillum

Plenty of white women like Jill Filipovic are telling other white women that they are indeed a problem that needs to be solved. And then there’s the Women’s March, which had this somber take:

Women's March ✔ @womensmarch

There needs to be accountability and an honest reckoning. There’s a lot of work to do, white women. A lot of learning. A lot of growing.

We want to do it with you. Stay tuned.

We hate to break it to you, Women’s March, but your leadership is so toxic from its association with anti-Semite Louis Farrakhan that not even Alyssa Milano will touch you now.

Of course, former Planned Parenthood president Cecile Richards was right there with another white woman’s guide to what’s wrong with white women:

As a white woman, I'm reflecting on the role we played. In a lot of places, white women failed to support progressive candidates. We have important work to do to be in solidarity with women of color & help others see that racism, sexism, & bigotry are intertwined & hurt us all. 4:13 PM - Nov 7, 2018

Patricia Heaton is a white woman, and she gave the Women’s March an opportunity to learn something: why not all white women vote for progressive candidates.

I know this is hard for you to grasp, but women of all kinds who are pro-science and anti-violence don’t believe that ending the life of your developing son or daughter in your womb is liberating or progressive. It’s tyrannical and barbaric. Women's March ✔ @womensmarch

Aside from their shunning of pro-life women and cozy embrace of Louis Farrakhan, what’s not to love about the Women’s March?

Patricia Heatin despises and did not vote for President Trump. She’s a pro-lifer who was A-OK with Hillary picking justices.

I apologize Eastasia is one of the 1984 superstates.

It’s be awhile since I have read the novel.

wite women don’t vote on race; they vote on qualifications. Unfortunately, some others can’t say the same.

Reportedly, in another irony, White men gave White women the vote because White women promised to stand with them.

You find commonalities where you find them. This all or nothing mentality we’ve adopted on this site is dangerous. I don’t even agree 100% with my wife on every single issue out there. The major ones yes. We differ on only a couple minor ones. Abortion is one of those all or nothing issues for me. I can pretty much know how you value human life by the way you treat the unborn.

In an interview with Bill O’Reilly, she said this about abortion in the context of Hollywood looking down on her, “On a personal level, as a Christian, it will not be Barbra Streisand I’m standing in front of when I have to make an accounting of my life.” That’s a powerful statement.

That’s fine, but there were only two choices in the election and she chose the one that leads to more abortions.

Good for her! Takes a lot of courage to be pro life in Hollyweird.
