The head of the Democratic National Committee said Thursday that President Trump’s “firing” of Attorney General Jeff Sessions doesn’t pass the “smell test” and said that it conjures up memories of former President Richard Nixon’s “Saturday massacre.”
But DNC Chairman Tom Perez shied away from saying he would support the liberal calls for impeachment of Mr. Trump if acting Attorney General Matthew G. Whitaker ends special counsel Robert Mueller’s Russia probe.
“What happened yesterday doesn’t pass the smell test,” Mr. Perez said at a breakfast sponsored by the Christian Science Monitor.

The smell of the DNC sewer is too overpowering for him. The rest of America smells nice fresh clean air now that Sessions is gone.
Since he resigned at the request of PDJT. They call if firing, I call it resigning.

Sessions was not “fired” - he resigned.

I said the same thing on another thread last night. He was asked to resign, so he resigned. If he had refused to resign, then Trump would have fired him. I'm sick of the left's play on words.
Cabinet members serve at the pleasure of the President. He can fire/request resignations anytime he wants. The Dims don’t like it because Sessions turned out to be ineffective and fear an effective AG.

Exactly. Trump requested Sessions resign, and he did. Now, Sessions could have refused to resign and THEN Trump would’ve had to fire him, but that didn’t happen. They should go to Sessions with their questions. Sessions simply wasn’t strong enough to stand up to the Left’s bullying. They said, right from the get-go, Sessions should recuse himself, so Sessions did. I doubt Whitaker, or our next AG, will submit to their bullying.
Certainly could be the smell of Perez’s fear.
Another case of Dems switching from hate to love too. They did it with Comey for sure, and now they’ll do it with “Beauregard” (they referred to him by his middle name to make him sound all Southern “racist” and all).
Fortunately a smell test is not required.
