They don’t want to accept it because to do would be to admit that psychotherapy and the general practice of Psychiatry in America is a failure; that the drug regimens that were touted as a way to deinstitutionalize the mentally ill have been shown to be a sham! Psychiatry is a system that has great labels for various mental conditions but has no real cures for them.
It’s not that many of the drugs don’t work(they can), it’s just that even the makers of them state that strong psychotherapeutic support must be offered and the patients monitored closely. Too often the meds get prescribed and then the patients told “you are on your own to find group support” especially in states where there is precious little after acute hospital treatment mental health support. What little there are, are often very expensive and very exclusive in terms of their clientele.
In the good old days it was against Navy regulations to have a tattoo. So, that includes Marines.

In 2016, California voters passed Proposition 63, which generally prohibited possession of large capacity magazines (>10 rounds) starting on July 1, 2017. No grandfathering. It didn't stop this crime.
Yet, anti-gunners will use this as yet another excuse for banning weapons and restricting access to firearm accessories based are arbitrary factors. I can hear it now, "It's time to ban handguns which can accept 'extended' capacity magazines."
Reasonable laws, on the other hand, would not interfere with the right of citizens to possess effective tools to defend themselves. That is not the California way.

I joined in 1969 and we were told getting a tattoo was an Article 15.
Thank you for your service. I've been in the Navy since 2003 and tats have never been completely banned, but there has been changes to what is allowed. I knew a Marine who had to get forearm tattoos removed before he was allowed to enlist.
IIRC, when I came in a waiver was needed to enlist with anything visible past short sleeves and any new ink post-enlistment required a chit from your chain of command (which was rarely enforced). These days, anything goes. The Navy is pretty relaxed. Maybe too relaxed. I'm not against tattoos but I'm seeing a lot of really bad ones. They're taking up entire arms and increasingly creeping up people's necks and the tops of their hands which just looks ghastly.

Growing up in the fifties it was pretty much accepted that everyone who joined the navy would get a tattoo. Whenever a guy came home on leave all of us kids would ask to see their tattoo. Inevitably there would be a “sweet” under one nipple and a “bitter” under the other one. Gross! And, of course, “mom” somewhere.
If that were the case the FBI would not have gone out of its way to suppress information leading elsewhere, or provide false or deceptive info to the Warren Commission. Nor would it have changed the testimony of witnesses (according to those witnesses)and ignore those who had contrary testimony.
This was the most egregious action of the Deep State in our lifetime. And we have since been shown just how much the FBI can be trusted. Hoover had immediately declared (before an investigation) that LHO was the guy.
Every aspect of the “case” when carefully analyzed turns out to be garbage.
