This is called “leverage”...a concept Trump has understood very well almost since birth. When you have it, you keep it and use it prudently. You do not do what most FReepers would have him do. That’s why he is Trump.
Interesting point, about Trump dealing with mafia types in the New York construction business. Trump had to be tough to deal with some of those guys. Maybe by comparison, dealing with Washington politicians isn’t as tough.
But 3 out of the 4 this time were a result of Obama’s coattails winning seats in red states 6 years ago that never should’ve gone to Democrats. ND and IN were 10-point margins. The GOP could’ve won those two with both hands tied behind their backs. MO just needed a decent candidate which they had. FL was a well-earned knock-down, drag-out by Scott as long as it’s not stolen in the recount.
