Nancy Pelosi is no match strategically for DJT, and moreover, so arrogant that she’ll ignore the smarter people in her party.

She’s a perfect foil.

Ryan? Ex-VP candidate and nominal head of the GOP? Can’t have a war with a guy like that. Now he’s gone, and he’ll need a new line or work or a change of parties. He’s completely and fatally compromised in the same crap McCain was in. Very bad stuff.

Not winning MT will sting. Losing the House is likely going to end up being indispensable. Contrast/context is king.

Agree, this benefits Trump (as it did for his predecessors) as he can now run 2020 campaign on “Blame Nancy and the Dems” when his agenda is tanked. Speaker Ryan was a complete failure but hard for Trump to blame his own party for failing to pass what is needed.

It will be interesting to see if Trump tacks left to compromise (as Clinton did with Newt to pass welfare reform) or simply slams the House at every opportunity. Stay tuned.
