Beto ORourke fell agonizingly short of becoming the first Democrat in a quarter of a century to win a statewide race in Texas but he may yet get a shot at an even bigger prize. ORourke, who was projected to lose to Republican incumbent Ted Cruz on Tuesday, had vowed that he would serve out his full six-year term in the Senate if victorious and would not run for president in 2020.
But a defeat frees him of those obligations. And given how close he got to unseating a Republican in the ruby-ed Lone Star State, he is sure to face loud calls from Democrats to run for the partys nomination for the White House. Indeed, those cries had begun even before the results in the race were final on Tuesday.

If Beto runs it might be a gender and race war on the Democratic side.
He raises money like the kenyan. It will be a short war. Like Six Day War short. Gillum on the bottom of the Dem ticket solves the race “problem”.
Yeah he looks a lot like him.
“might be a gender and race war on the Democratic side.”
Dem Rule number one: being pro abortion overrules every other rule
Spartacus will not let this happen.
Spartacus is going to have beltway stink all over him. Beto, by losing, won’t. He’s be free to campaign and fundraise non stop before the Dim primaries.
Alexandria is too young to be on the ticket in 2020...but he better run before she turns 35.
He spent far more money than ANY US Senate candidate in history and still lost.
Read this from Twitchy. ORourke got only 200,000 votes more than Paul Saddler did in 2012 against Ted Cruz, and Sadler only raised $700,000.
US Senate for Texas
2012, Paul Sadler
Raised: $705,027
Votes: 3,194,927
$/Vote: $0.22 each
2018, Beto O'Rourke
Raised: $69,240,350+
Votes (11:33pm ET): 3,413,259+
$/Vote: $20.29 each
Allllllll that money for just 200K+ more votes?

He can steal Biden’s slogan: “Cuz THIS is a big F’ing deal!”
I think the big money Dems will shy away from Beto in the near future:
1. Cruz ran a listless campaign until near the end, and he is not that popular among Texas Republicans now, for obvious reasons. He got about 400,000 fewer votes than Abbott did in the governor’s race. Beto had the national media shilling for him and a ton of money (see below). This was Beto’s best chance to win.
2. Dems threw about 70 million into the Beto fire this time. That will be remembered during the next two years.
“Allllllll that money for just 200K+ more votes?”
This is absolutely true. But the thing to be concerned about is that the Democrats have an almost endless supply of FAR LEFT billionaires who are willing to keep upping the dollars spent (fascism is the preferred economic structure of very large, powerful companies, it limits competition greatly). And they are getting very close to flipping even more red states to blue with that money. They won’t stop here. In 2020, those billionaires will at least double (perhaps even more) the amount of money that they are willing to spend to buy a globalist America. They have an endless supply of money from the uber-wealthy. Endless.
Eventually, it does overwhelm the opposition.
A rising star who has never held elected office? How does one get that title bestowed upon themselves?
Stop calling him Beto...that is not his name

Time to buy a radio station.
Robert Francis (aka; Beto) would be better off moving to Kalifornia and running against Kamala Harris for her Senate seat in 2020 and then set himself up for a run again Pence in 2024...
“Proven Loser!”
Yeah, ok, so run people that have experience losing...
Maybe he can skateboard his way into the White House.
“Beto”? I think he culturally appropriated that name from noble Hispanic peoples. But it’s close to what his name should be, considering he is a Soviet Communist wannabe. I think his Communist nickname is probably close to what his fellow students must have called him in high school: Comrade Betov.
He got about 400,000 fewer votes than Abbott did in the governors race.

Those people did not vote for Beta.
They left that spot on their ballot blank.
He’s a Congressman from El Paso.
If he was smart, he’d run against Cornyn in 2020.
I read Francis said he will not run in 2020 for President. This was after he found out he lost to Cruz.
Yes, people change their minds, but I have to wonder if he spent all that campaign money and what he plans on doing with what wasn’t spent.
I’ve never seen this guy speak but I get the drift he’s charming and persuasive in front of a crowd or camera. Those are excellent qualities in a pol but he also needs to come across as genuine and honest which he most certainly does not. He is a proven liar.
