The Green Party strikes again, this time likely winning the Arizona Senate seat for Republican Martha McSally:

Hell, I was born and raised in California and I got the hell out of there in 1979 when I was in my late twenties. Smartest thing I ever did.
One would think that military people would understand the importance of border security and the rule of law for cohesion of the nation.
Graham and McCain are clear examples that this is not true.
We need a money trail investigation that demonstrates Dim backers and donations to the Greens and the Libertarians.

Why do these people bother to vote ? You see if some bigger states 5000 votes going to “Some Person”. Guess better than if thy voted Democrat? Are the far far far left wing nuts?
Of course it’s all based on the very stupid assumption that the Greens would vote for a Dem without a Green on the ballot. Or the Libertarians would vote for a Rep without a Libertarian on the ballot. A candidate’s job is to win votes, it’s not the voters’ fault when they don’t. Nobody owes a candidate a vote.

The greens (communists) and losertarians help defeat democrats. You seem to believe the opposite.
I think us Republicans fail to appreciate how unusual it was for one party to have the WH 3 straight terms. Except for 1981-1992, you'd have to go back to the 1950's to find a party being in the WH for 3 terms.
It's why I didn't expect Hillary to win in 2016.
Plus, there's the fact that Dim Jimmy Carter was in the WH 1 term (1977-1980) in the middle of 5 terms of Republicans (Nixon/Ford for 2 terms, Reagan for 2 terms, Bush Sr. for 1 term). So even without Perot, the odds of winning the WH again in 1992 was slim.
They probably helped defeat Brat in Virginia. Although I always voted R I am a libertarian (small l) at heart and the best way for Republicans to deal with them is to coopt their platform by dedicating themselves to shrinking the budget
Greens are hard leftists, which means that if they didn't vote Green, they would vote for Democrats, so if anything, they help Republicans.
Libertarian voters are about evenly split. Those who are libertarian for social issues would otherwise vote Democrat, those who a libertarian for fiscal issues would otherwise vote Republican. So their effect on elections is probably neutral.
Plus, there's the fact that unless a person is a complete idiot, he knows that neither party will win. This means that the vast majority of people who vote libertarian or green are people who would otherwise not vote at all and are just using them as a "none of the above" vote. In short, I don't buy into the "spoiler" theory of ineffectual third parties.
Plus 2 on that. I worked the phones in 92 as part of the get out the vote. I can’t remember how many times I got yelled at because of “read my lips”...
Perhaps if George HW Bush wasn't such a crappy excuse for a candidate, people would have voted for him instead of for Perot (this is also ignoring the fact that nearly half of Perot's support came from people who previously voted for Democrats). This whole "spoiler" business is just the excuse both major parties use when their dud of a candidate loses an election.
You have to remember, Tucson is now Los Angeles East, and Phoenix is being overrun by California democrats, bringing Cali politics with them.
Some people are consistent across the board and some people change their stripes to fit the position they fill. I'd prefer the former but if McSally (way too close to the name McCain) does what she said about being aligned with the Trump doctrine then she will be fine. The last thing AZ needs is another Flake or McCain. Arizona has had far too much of the RINO representation at the Senate level. I'd just about rather see a moderate dem in that position than a traitor pubbie again.
Sinenema is a known radicalized leftist communist though. Nothing resembling a moderate. In this case McSally is the best choice given to voters.
It's kind of remarkable that McSally won this race at all, given her primary struggles and relative lack of charisma. It was clearly a big target for Soros & Co., and they almost pulled it off...except that the Bad Orange Man ruined their entire evil plan. :)
Funny how everything, good or bad, always follows the money. There are a few exceptions like random acts of kindness but they are rarely big events or reported. The small ones matter too I suppose.
Sinema is a good public speaker and has more charisma than McSally. She was successful at portraying her comments as youthful inexperience OR joking around. I voted for McSally and encouraged everyone I know to do so, but McSally has the charisma of a toad. She pointedly refused to endorse Trump in 2016 and kept her distance until it looked like she was going to lose.
I’d bet Sinema outspent McSally by a huge margin too. Her ads were everywhere.
McSally clearly comes from the same inbred Arizona GOP Inc Family that gave us McCain and Flake. She could never hide that, and it alienates some people who would normally vote for the Republican.
