Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) fended off Democrat challenger Robert Francis ORourke to win re-election in a high-profile Senate race Tuesday, but establishment media pundits, Hollywood celebrities, and liberal activists did not lose hope they had now moved on to dreams of Beto 2020.
Cruz finished a surprising second in the 2016 Republican presidential primary and began the Senate race as a prohibitive favorite. However, ORourke visited fiercely conservative parts of the state that his party had long since given up on, while shattering fundraising records despite shunning donations from outside political groups and pollster advice. Cruz argued that his opponents support for gun control and universal health care were too liberal for the Lone Star State.
ORourke shot down similar suggestions Monday on the campaign trail and pledged not to run for president.
Below is a round-up of Beto 2020 buzz via Twitter, which including actress Alyssa Milano, NBCs John Harwood, and CNN political analyst Chris Cillizza:

Bater O’dork...
We need Liawatha! (or Hillary by God!) Kamala is too light skinned and relatively attractive, I wouldn’t write her off. She was a prosecutor, stupid White people like that.
He had a red Kennedy nose.
I hope her eligibility (parents were not citizens at her time of birth) gets shot down by SCOTUS. Deciding vote by Kav.
If they had green cards, that’s not likely to happen.
Beto Cortez 2020
Nitwit and Dimwit.
He looks like he drives a van with “FREE CANDY” painted on the side.
Think he would mind sharing the ticket with Hillary or can there only be one?
By the looks of her, Hillary probably wont even be alive in 2020.
Generally speaking, the GOP has to do a better job telling the suburban, working, soon to be single moms, that we are the party for them.
Get that out of your system now. Obama decided that 10 years ago. You will just callous your head after two more years of banging it on a wall. Although the Kav spin would be funny.
Death is no hindrance for dim voters, why would it bother a candidate?
